The storytelling in this song is Phenomenal !!! Mr. Orlando was on an episode of Gilbert Gottfried's (RIP) Amazing Colossal Podcast a few year back. I listened to it. Better than average episode! (And he SURVIVED Gilbert with his humor intact! LOL) He had some interesting stories to tell that included experiences with Jackie Gleason. The experience with Mr. Gleason was initially negative but it ended positively because Mr. Gleason corrected himself without being a diva about it. The story made me respect both Orlando and Gleason more...

Throughout my childhood I remember seeing on my dad’s night stand a toy music box/statue of two children playing dentist in a dentist chair. The music box played this song. Being a dentist his entire life, he must have received it as a gift at some point. I never knew what tune it was until recently. I hadn’t heard this tune for 20 years until right now. 2020 anyone? edit: it’s just january but i swear this song will be my song for 2020 edit: Wow, can’t believe that it has been 6 months already since i wrote this. This song in my opinion inspired our people here in the Philippines to pin or tie a yellow ribbom for the homecoming of Senator Aquino who was exiled to US to undergo a heart surgery and later assassinated in Aug 1983 at the airport during his homecoming. The yellow or yellow ribbon is the political emblem/ color for the Liberal Party of the Philippines, his political party.

My dad used to pick me up from school and then we'd go pick up my mom from work - He would always be playing "old" songs in the car. Heck I know the lyrics from more songs from the 60s-80s than I do of songs today (I was born in the 90s). Still find myself coming back to songs now and again when I want some of them nostalgic feels.

I recently started rewatching "Little House on the Prairie" and I gotta say, I see it with totally different eyes this time. I always strongly disliked the 70s but now I actually come to like it. This music reminds me of it a lot. And I love it. What gorgeous music, I'm truly rediscovering the whole decade! :)

Gill, you and I are of the same mind! I grew up with the best of the 70's Music playing constantly (my parent's era) but never "got" the 70's like I love the 30's/40's, etc. It was Little House that opened my eyes! Xx

The way I found this beautiful song is... I finished watching the Tv show Titans, and long story short became obsessed with it. Anyway I found the soundtrack on Spotify and played all the songs over, and over again until I finally just listened to the words, and started bawling my eyes out. I’ve replayed this video like 5 times. Such. A. Good song ;)

Having not been born until the late 1980's, my earliest memory of this song was the karaoke version that appeared in that Wallace & Gromit episode (although not the original recording) and my father told me that the name of that song was "Tie a Yellow Ribbon" while we were watching it. Also, I must admit that the acoustics in this song are very meditating!

I was a little kid in early grade-school and I listened to those channels on cable tv that were just a black screen with the song info printed in white, to help me sleep on a school night... This song stuck out to me the most on those channels. Hearing it again after all these years... it's surreal, feeling those days coming back to me in memory.
