If Logger Wade and Dirt Perfect would combine their knowledge could have an awesome fabrication shop!! If you guys didn't do it full time you can come up with Patients on equipment attachments and sit back and let the $$$$$ roll in! You two guys are some of the best fabricators that I have ever seen! Keep up the great work!! Patient some of these ideas before somebody steals them away from you guys!!

I was wondering where you get OSHA approved steel toed slippers at. Drop one of those pieces of steel and you might end up nicknamed Two Toes or something. And like you said, a red hot bb of steel from the cutting torch inside will give you a hot foot. But grown adults should have the right to take any risk they want to as long as they don't sue the company.

The idea of using somthing thst is "junk" and making it have a purpose is somthing I've loved doing for 45 years now. I run a tiny sawmill operation and I will purposely make a trip to the scrap yard for steel to make a project long before buying new steel. I've been laughed at and all kinds of differnt stuff but at the end of the day if you can take 5 bucks and turn it into 50 it's a win! Too bad your not closer I have several sections of cutting edge I scrounge for another project laying out in the log yard you could use on that tie stacker! Great video!

Especially some of that work hardened deck materials from the mill. Anything that is beat up and worn so it needs replacing is good for that. Surely he has some plates that had to be replaced that took a lot of beating over time. That stuff can be harder than tool steel, just not rated or tested to an industrial standard.

308s are my favorite minis , they are big enough to actually do something with and small enough to get into tight spots . All the generations prior to the 308e2 that I ran seem to have over heating problems in the dead of summer but you can run it with the hood open and it fixes that problem . I did 8 hours in my 308e2 hammering rock down to 12'' minus today . I got it with 3 hours and it has almost 4k hours now not a single problem besides an alternator !!@

I'm just jumping in here so maybe you can excuse me not know all the history. Where do the ties go from here? Do you need to dry them to some point or to they go to treatment green? Every mill and logger needs a scrap pile. Whatever you need in is the scrap pile, you just have to pull it out. Kinda like an artist. I knew a lot when I got out of college. Then what I had to do was learn everything that the people in the woods knew. Thing about writing a harvest plan was that I might end up logging it. I miss cruising and marking timber. My hands would still love to grab my saw and cut timber and then skid and load it out. Been a hell of a ride.

Wade, nice to see you back making videos again. Hope this all works out for you with the new tools and ties. I hadn't noticed if you have mentioned the state of a couple people who are regulars in your vids, so I ask- how is your mom, dad, and Fuzzy Wuzzy? Is it Stevie? Don't know what happened there, you used to say his name with such joy on the job and then he was gone. I leave y'all to your personal arguments and not be involved. I have worked with my cousin off and on over the last 20 years, then one day we get mad working with each other and don't work with each other for a year or ten. Its the same but different, we want different things and realize neither is going to compromise on our wants when it gets to that place. It can be the same but different, that's up to the both of you. It looks like a big circular saw would be nice for cutting those bundles once you get them all stacked but probably ridiculous to have sitting around and deal with. thanks for the videos.

It works , doesn't matter how it looks . As for the stack, what if that was stacked on railway irons and have some bunks made from scrap sitting on them ,with the ties stacked from the mill ,tidy ,easy to handle maybe some of the sorting time made shorter ,if you inow what i mean ? Can the ties coming off the mill be sorted by lenght before they are stacked , simple short or long then you can do the finnal pick as you have just shown ? I might be way off lol but one never knows until we pipe up with ideas . Great that you could wear your Sunday Best at work ,need a match tie 😅

Thanks for sharing your thoughts, ideas and videos. People talk a lot about Elon but I’m sure you could teach him a thing or two. Besides the entertainment I love the videos like this because they are educational, really enjoy watching a master creator at work. Always make me think about the problem you’re trying to solve and try to envision the end result prior to actually seeing it completed. Not sure if you have had the opportunity to check out DP’s latest creation. I’ve wondered what your take would be. He built a new pole saw for his excavator, that has a circular blade on the end driven by hydraulic power from the excavator. Using it as inspiration I bet you could make a saw for your mini excavator just for cutting your ties. Just need to add another hydraulic function to your boom. Maybe a giant chainsaw on a stick hanging off your tie sorter that pivots up out of the way while sorting. Wishing you and your family the best. As a side note, I heard DP is trying to make a class for kids to learn about the trades, if you could break out some time I’m sure you would be an excellent guest teacher. Only problem would be which of the hundreds of skills in your pocket would you teach. I’m guessing philosophy of creativity.
