In my youth I could do the Schuhplattler , as lived in the Alps, but the youth nowdays has been too Americanized. I've always enjoyed it, & performed it in Running Springs, CALI, which the patrons just loved.
@demaXxXx6 жыл бұрын
Jasmin Lechner WRONG The Schuhplattler is a traditional style of folk dance popular in the Alpine regions of Bavaria and Tyrol Over 125 years ago it became known from the court of the Wittelsbacher dynasty. It began as a courtship dance, with each boy trying to outdo the other's powerful leaps, dancing.
@demaXxXx6 жыл бұрын
The melody is from a 'Laendler' folk tune, it's difficult to know the exact origin, but what is known in the YEAR 1050 "Ruodlieb", a knight's poem written by a monk at Tegernsee monastery (not far south of Munich) in the year 1050, describes a village dance featuring "leaps and hand gestures" that could actually denote an early form of the Schuhplattler.

@TheJutsch989 жыл бұрын
ASCG5000 No it's not. The main official language is german, but 90% of the people speak such heavy dialects that it are not the same languages anymore. Also, if you say that Austria is Germany here, you get charged for Nazi-reeenactment and go to prison. Where uneducated fucks like you belong.
@ASCG50009 жыл бұрын
Le "TheJutsch" The reason why Austria is not part of Germany today was mainly because of religious differences. In the 1870s when Bismark was unifying all the German states, Austria opted out because the majority of Austrians are Catholic while the rest of the German states (well a majority of them) were Protestant. Hell, by the time World War 1 came around, there were even plans for the German and Austrian Empires to unify in order to form a Großdeutschland (greater Germany). This was plan was of course faulted with the defeat of the Central Powers at the end of WW1.
@lineh.85317 жыл бұрын
Austrian dialects are very similar to bavarian dialects and can be understood by most Germans very well. Austrians and Bavarians are culturally very close to each other, closer than Bavarians are to other regions of Germany.

Seing bavarians commenting things like "this is bavarian folk, not german" under every single comment calling it german folk breaks my heart. German speaking countries tried to create one german nation since before the 18th century and took many human lives on the way. The problem was always the seperation of bavaria, prussia, etc. from the rest because they are whiny idiots who need to be special and not like "them". Bismarck wouldve been ashamed.
@robaudino98335 жыл бұрын
Germany has only been a country for 150 years. These traditions date back far longer than the creation of Germany in 1871. Bavaria is and always has been very culturally distinct from the rest of Germany. Bismarck was an imperialist bureaucrat whose only ambition was for power and influence. Germans from outside Bavaria rebuke these traditions as stereotype and bavarians embrace this culture. It’s the equivalent of people thinking that all Americans say Y’all and wear cowboy boots and cowboy hats and go to the rodeo, when that is really just a south/southwestern phenomenon. This is a beautiful tradition and it’s people like you that push uniformity that are contributing to the death of these centuries old traditions.

Adolf Hitler, leader of the Nazi Party in Germany in the years leading up to and during World War II, was also a painter. He produced hundreds of works and sold his paintings and postcards to try to earn a living during his Vienna years (1908-13). However, he was not successful.
