Long ago, as a joke, I bought an album called "Greatest Dance Hits of the 1500s (and 1600s)". I fell in love with Early Music because of this album. This song was on it. Thank you!

When I was in college in the mid-80s I bought an old album of music of the XII-Xiii centuries. Turns out it was one of the earliest commercial recordings of medieval music.

This is a modern performance! Since the US/American national anthem dates back only to 1814 and became official in the 1930s, this music wouldn’t be considered “early”ᒭᐢᑖᐢ ᓂᑑᑌᒼ 💖🌺

What a magnificent arrangement! It brings back heavenly memories of both dancing the Basse Dance and marching to a brass arrangement of this Susato piece in the train of Queen Elizabeth I at our annual Renaissance Pleasure Faire in the Blackwoods forest in Marin County, CA. The piece is also brilliantly used in a hilarious Monty Python sketch in which a "high concept" Elizabethan costume drama is being filmed - with courtiers on motorcycles! At least I THINK it was this Susato piece!

Noch 'was: Ist nur mir aufgefallen: Dass jedes Kind, jede und jeder der so so sympathischen und mitreißenden jungen Mitwirkenden nicht einfach in vorgefertigte Gewänder der Renaissancezeit ge- steckt wurden, sondern alle ganz unterschiedlich und individuell gekleidet sind. Respekt der Schneiderin, dem Schneider und allen, die darauf Wert gelegt haben! Warum? Ganz einfach: Nicht Individualismus war angesagt in den sowjetisch dominierten Ostblockstaaten, sondern kollektivistischer Einheitsbrei. Die Begründerin und der Begründer dieser so außer- gewöhnlichen Initiative, haben das gewusst - und den Widerspruch gewagt!

thank you for bringing me back to my early school days, we did similar things :) Don't get me wrong, but my very bad instrument sounded super similar to the one from 0:33, my teacher music always said it sounds like it sounds and can't improved. Anyway - great music ! And interesting hats
