Totally agree that The Mindf*ck Series is where all readers come together! Truer words have never been said 👏 That series is superior. Everyone who I’ve recommended it to has at least liked it, even ppl who don’t usually read, or don’t even read romance at all 😌 It’s just that compelling 🤩 Example: my book club friend read it, talked about it with her husband, and then didn’t see him for 3 days cuz he couldn’t put it down 😁

I know you are moving into your fantasy era - and I love that for you, because I’m a fantasy and dark romance girlie, give me dark fantasy romance and I’m done for - so I’m just pre-warning you that 3rd person limited/close is very common in fantasy. There are quite a few that are in first person, but it’s very very common to read a lot of 3rd person in fantasy just because of the genre conventions and expectations. Where as it’s not very common in romance. But yeah, for every fantasy book written in first person there are two written in third person - please don’t discount them just because they aren’t written in first person though, as a writer I can tell you that there is a reason the author chose to write it in one style or the other and that they thought it was the best way to tell the story or it needed to be written that way for specific reasons. There are just certain things you can do in third person limited that you cant in first. Also, it surprises me that you don’t like third person since I know it annoys you sometimes when you want the answer to something in a book and you want to know the ‘why’ of something and you dont get the answer right away because the character doesn’t know or find out for a long time - that isn’t an issue for third person and is one of the reasons its used because its a way for the author to give the reader info without the character having to also know the info too soon for the plot. Anyway, all this to say just be aware that some of the fantasy books you pick up and start reading will be in third person - don’t DNF just because of that though, I guarantee there is reason for it so give them a try.
