rhagar mills because when you’re deeply not okay and someone asks that a lot of the time you don’t wanna talk about it so you have to lie and say yes which feels even worse. OR the asking that makes you want to completely break down.

Bro can we discuss how surreal the video is and the meaning behind it. It’s literally someone using someone else and looking like the bad guy, but whole time the bad guy has someone worse than him.
@danielribeiro90323 жыл бұрын
I just had a trip on that. Like the potatoes are her raw artistic potential, that she turns into dishes, or "refines" (the potatoes sing the song with her too) It's not an easy or painless process, putting yourself in that position as an artist, so that's where the context of the humanity of the potatoes takes place. BUT she's determined enough to do it without hesitation or empathy, even though she gets tired of it. That's why she's the "villain" or accomplice/ executioner in the story context. And the monster is the music industry, always hungry for more and distasteful of the quality of the content she's putting on the table.

This video (and the artist) is just spot on overall. The song is well crafted and her lyrics & delivery are nothing shy of sublime throughout. The video concept in which she speaks to us in is also incredibly well made; it's so originally nuanced compared to much of the current contemporaries, and so Disturbingly amusing and humorous, all without using a shred of nudity (which I'm not against). It's young woman has vision and talent. I really hope she makes it farther and makes more music. She just gained a new fan.

Guys! Guys! I found the meaning: Thierra trying to represent the cruelty of the music industry in this video. Small potatoes (small artists) are being eaten by big potatoes (big artists like lil wayne, kanye west...), she is in the serving position, she has some light and she feed the old bosses the new talents. I think she has some problem with rick ross too, and she is sending him the sublime message in the video by reminding him what position she (and he) plays in the industry.

I think I sort of understand the video in relation to the song. The big potatoes are feeding off of their own people and forcing Tierra to do their dirty work, and of course Tierra has to play along to keep her job (hence the relation of the song name, "Unemployed"). They reward her for doing so which is why her hat and her hips get bigger each time she serves them.

@YourCommonLoser maybe but I'm from South Africa. If I ask do you know Tellaman? I doubt that the answer would be 'yes'. You can't know everything from everywhere in the world all the time. The least one can do is, open themselves to learn and embrace new things to them. That's what I'm trying to do. I grew up listening to a lot of American artists (and still do), however, in all honesty I'm just being exposed to Tierra's music via youtube. Don't mean no disrespect or ignorance. Our media has not exposed us to her music. We have Drake, Migos, Cardi, Kehlani, Nicki, Dej Loaf, Dreezy, Chris and a lot of other American artists on tv and radio play but we haven't heard Tierra. I hope you now understand.

Some don't understand the "I don't act black" line, but she means she doesn't "act Black", she IS Black. There's no particular way to "act Black", and in the world consumed by stereotypes, don't stereotype her. She IS Black! So respect it.
