One of my favorite parts of FF7 was the whole scene with Tifa helping Cloud rebuild his mind. The way the truth slowly comes together and you realize who cloud really is just amazing. Something that I have not experienced in other games at the time.

I love Tifa so much, she was my first ever idol. Strong, independent but still very loving and caring. I can't wait to fall in love with her again in the Remake.

I would love to see Cloud and Tifa’s relationship go deeper in the remake.

And after everything, she still managed to come out on the end of it with a semi-normal life. she’s really just the best, isn’t she?

you can add more to this now and with Aerith's origins when Traces of Two Pasts comes out this November. IT's confirmed Tifa fell in love with Cloud after their water tower promise. Her life in Midgar after Nibelheim, how she was scammed of her hard-earned money, her living conditions, her injuries, her day-to-day work. She worked her ass off and always sought to prove she was more than just her looks cause people would notice her while she was working, she sought to prove she had excellent work ethic and skills. She met Marle while she was still "imprisoned" in Sector 8 because of her medical debt which was inflated 3 times the true value of the surgery. She met Barret and Marlene who were homeless, she bought Seventh Heaven. Tifa IS A REALLY STRONG PERSON, beautiful inside and out. Very admirable and not just a pretty face. Charming because of her shyness too. I love her so much!

I mean, Cloud promised Tifa that he’d come back to her if she was ever in trouble. Cloud did keep that promise although he wasn’t SOLDIER. The only thing that messed up this blossom, was the fact that Cloud suffered from Mako poisoning and Zack’s dying words caused him to “become” Zack. And when he met Aerith, he still believed he was Zack and started liking her. As time and event’s continued in FF7 Cloud started to break away from his delusions. At the end of Advent Children, Cloud can be seen smiling back at Tifa as he found closure and while Sephiroth was his darkness, he found light in Tifa.

This was such an interesting story that I never fully internalized until now! Tifa Lockhart was not just trying to make Cloud stay for her own benefit; she knew instinctively that Cloud was in trouble and needed help, so she did everything she could to protect him. They were both saving each other. So sweet. :')

Oh my god, Tifa and her freaking 7 day comas. Seriously, it's not too hard to believe that she'd start doubting her memories and all that after Cloud comes back into her life after all the comas. It's almost kind of shocking that she hasn't been messed up worse after some of the things she's gone through. But for real though, one of the best characters of all of Final Fantasy.

I'd completely forgotten Tifa was basically a mother of three children now...

Shy and caring, yet stern and grounded. She’s the perfect female character. And she’s so relatable with how she constantly hides her true feelings. She was my first true love as a character.

Tifa just keeps taking in stray children, I love that.

TFS Tifa has more character development than most characters in RPGs today.

I was only 5 when the original game came out back in 97. So freakin young but immediately I was drawn to Tifa so much which was pretty funny because when your a little girl you usually are attracted to the more brighter flashier things or girly characters like Aerith cuz lets face it she is the equivalent of a Disney princess in the Final Fantasy world. With Aerith having the more prettier colors with her pretty pink dress and gorgeous green eyes I still thought that Tifa was much more prettier and had a captivating way about her. And my impressions were confirmed when I began to watch my brother play through the story and I found out just how impressive she was! She was strong and kicked some serious butt and I loved all her limit breaks the dolphin one being one of my favorites! Not only was she crazy strong but she was soo caring and sweet towards not only Cloud but everyone around her, the way she cared for Marlene made me think of me and my older sister and I instantly wanted Tifa to be my friend as well. I always rooted her and Cloud to be together and as far as I was concerned they did in fact end up together and she did have his heart obviously by the way she was able to help him find himself again and become whole. Cloud simply wouldn't be who he is without Tifa, before and after he lost his memories. Losing Aerith was heartbreaking and I will forver remember the shock and total disbelief as it happened right in front of me but I always knew that if Tifa had taken that place instead of Aerith, Cloud couldn't take it and would simply cease to function. After Aerith was gone he mourned as the rest of the team did but he himself said that he was able to move on and look toward the future because he had Tifa by his side. (On the Way to Smile, the Case of Cloud) Tifa was and will always be his rock to keep himself grounded and strive for better, sure he might stumble sometimes but he always finds his way back to her. They are just a powerhouse and I always believed that they eventually found their way to express themselves to each other and gave each other peace. Just my opinion of course lol everyone has their thoughts and whats beautiful about that is that it is left to the players and audience to be the judge( although their wrong if they believe that Aerith was the one for Cloud! Lol jk) With all that being said, Tifa is and will always be my hero. She was my first real exposure to a strong kick ass and beautiful female lead that didn't have to be girly or to resort to type like the way many things were in the girl world for a 90s kid. She was a genuine good influence on this little girl that has lasted all these years later. She held her ground strongly as bad ass and she was able to competed with the big boys dealing some pretty serious damage with HER BARE HANDS and come on that's pretty rad! I always wanted to learn martial arts because of her, will partly because of my admiration of Bruce Lee but mainly cause of her lol and hopefully one day I will. With her gorgeous ruby eyes and that sweet warm smile which always made me smile and who can you not admit that damn sex appeal but always remained so classy like the lady she is! Plus she's realistic looking in a universe that set the bar ridiculously high when it comes to making the girls attractive, the lead girls look insanely unique with their very rare features of their hair or eye colors. They are made to look like unrealistic beyond gorgeous alien supermodels, Tifa looks genuinely relatable and doesn't have to have uniquely obvious features cause her personality speaks volumes itself and that grabs your attention instead but while also looking gorgeous in a kind of humble girl next door type although she is anything but! She's effortlessly beautiful and doesn't need flashy colors or anything else to make her stand out. She's everything I wanted to be when I was a little girl and she's everything I wanted to be now and I just adore her. Tifa Lockhart are timeless my dear and as corny as it is I try my best to follow your examples and have to admit I do share your shyness when it comes to love but I hope one day I can truly overcome that. She's my hero and without a doubt my favorite character of anything of all time! That's what she means to me!!! Sorry for the rant y'all lol hopefully I don't get too much shit for this people can be a little harsh😅 Anyways, God bless everyone. Please be safe with all this craziness going on in the world! ✌🏻

I'm actually kind of happy for this character. Simple, believable and justified story arc. Her depression, which is something you explain so well seems realistic, and the contrast you made with her past is great. I especially love that she's not your typical Passive Main Protagonist's waifu, that is only there to be sexy and to be the Main Character's Future Girlfriend after the main story is done, but is portrayed as even a leader (even tho it's only when Cloud isn't there apparently, as you said) but I like the fact that this game (that I didn't play) isn't actually all about the main protagonist. It is about Tifa too, who to be honest, if we were to choose who would be the best romantic choice for him anyways , it would be Definitely her. You gotta like these types of dynamics, where people don't have to do pervert, cheesy, silly stupid anime type shit to make us hint that two persons love each other..from what I read during this video, their dialogue is so natural and smooth, while also being ambiguously "we are close friends that might get together one day" Anyways man, great video keep this fire up!!!

Tifa Lockhart is the reason why FF7 is so popular. She is the most lovable and decent character in video game history. It was all thanks to Tetsuya Nomura for designing Tifa. So many fans around the world are showing their love for Tifa.

Tifa saying "words aren't the only way to tell someone how you feel" is pretty straight forward if you ask me, esp since it is highly suggested that they share an intimate moment under the highwind after that. This was fantastic. I really hope the remake, after all of the episodes of course, sees Tifa and Cloud married and happy.

Tifa to me was always the most important character of the story. She was the glue that kept everyone together, she was among the absolute strongest characters in a battle, and she was the only one who could truly restore Cloud to his normal self. Sure, Aeris and others did their part to save the world, but without Tifa I dont think the story could be written the way it was, meaning it would have been much emptier and more straightforward/bland. Her combination of confidence and delicate feminist traits make her one of my absolute favorite FF characters ever. Always and never a Trope at the same time, she is reall a unique character in FF.

I can't wait to fall in love with Tifa again in the FF7 remake, hope Square Enix will elaborate more on her relationship with Cloud, I've always preferred Aerith with Zack and Cloud with Tifa 😁

never had a bond with aerith, tifa on the other hand, She's like the mother figure of the group. A strong character. Aerith is just there tagging along. i always make sure Cloud and Tifa go on the date at gold sourcer :) and she's always in my party.

There's all of that, and Tifa is just a badass character. Not just as a melee fighter, but her connections to Cloud really give context to his issues for who he was and is. She was very much his driving force for his later actions.

Red XIII/Nanaki is my favorite FF7 character, and I'd love to see him covered. His race always interested me as seeming very connected to the "natural" state of the world, similarly to the Cetra. Tifa's origins as the "fallback girl" are depressing to hear, but I'm glad she became more than that. That actually makes it more interesting that they decided to subvert the childhood friend trope and make it kind of a false friendship that never actually kindled until their adulthood. I was always also kind of disappointed that the game never went into detail about her joining AVALANCHE, since realistically she had the most motive to get back at Shinra despite Barret having the "raw passion" of the group. I hope they delve into that a little more with the remake.

Tifa Lockhart has always been my absolute favorite Final Fantasy girl. Strong and independent, with a big heart. She could kick anyones ass if she wanted to and she didn't see Aerith as competition, despite having feelings for the same man- they were close friends even. She was the real deal. I love her so much! I hope the remake does her absolute justice and then some. I will be intensely disappointed if they don't. I also hope they add even more development to her and Cloud's relationship...though I have a feeling they want us to feel incomplete about it as before.

What does Tifa mean to me? Everything. I've played FFVII once a year since 1999, and over time I've come to see Tifa as the main character of the story rather than Cloud. It's crazy to think that she wasn't even one of the original characters for the game...

I would love to see an origins video of Quistis Trepe. I like secondary characters, and she's one of my favorite characters in all of the series. Thanks for the videos. They're always put together well and have a definite replay value.

When I was a child, I started ff7 because my brothers said it was a good game. But I kept playing because I wanted to see Tifa finally find happiness with Cloud and heal from her past. Now the same has happened with the remake: bought it because it looked amazing, kept playing it because I wanted to see Tifa get her chance to shine in and find happiness with Cloud. She's easily the best character in ff7 to me. One of the strongest characters in all of Final Fantasy, but still deeply human, struggling with her past and inability to express how she really feels. Square really hit the jackpot when they created her. Great video!

Tifa is one of my favorites across Final Fantasy, clocking in at third after Yuna & Garnet...with Lightning & Fran behind her to round out my top five. Funny thing, I remember reading a fanfic someone did about a decade and a half ago; at one point, Tifa began to execute her Dolphin Blow. But instead of actually doing it, she summoned Ken from Street Fighter, who did a Shouryuuken with a small dolphin in hand!! As for others...if you haven't already done so, I'd love origins about: Celes from Final Fantasy VI, Maria from Final Fantasy II, Fran from Final Fantasy XII, and the summon spell Shiva, who's been around in almost everything from Final Fantasy III (the *REAL* III, not the crappily renamed Super Nintendo port of Final Fantasy VI).

First and foremost, thank you very much about this video! Tifa Lockhart is one of my most favorite video character and heroine. She means a lot to me and I resonate with her so much. She is somehow a reminder to me, it doesn't matter where you stand in this world anyone can play a greater role and bring change. Like I said in my birthday tribute to her, she is unlike any other FF heroine, she is not a princess, mage, witch, summoner, or someone who belongs to a legendary race who holds the key to save the world. She doesn't fight with a weapon and doesn't have special powers, but with her fists. She's a normal human with strong passion and drive to protect people she hold dear in her heart. Her genuine love and warmth supported and saved the hero at loss, and that hero ultimately saved the world. She is a heroine solely created to stand by the hero's side. Not the most grandiose role but undeniably important and the most intimate one. And speaking of heroines, I would love for you to make a video about deconstructing Aerith's and Tifa's role as both heroines of the series

I didn't realise it until now, but the # 7 is significant in Tifa's life. Twice she was comatose for 7 days, she runs 7th Heaven, her limit break slots have triple 7s, and she's in the 7th game. Is there any other 7s in her life?

The Relationships between Zach / Aerith / Cloud / Tifa is beautiful and sad, complicated with so much going on underneath but simple at first glance. That is my jam. I spent my senior year in highschool listening to Wu Tang and Fiona Apple, playing SOTN and and lamenting Aerith.

Tifa was the "Girl next door" she was more than a babe and not quite the tomboy. She was a growing woman who had her issues and persevere. She's special to me but it's less about looks and more about substance. I like her and her time in 7. I hope 7R treats her well.

Tifa is my favorite character of all time. I absolutely love and admire her! She is a sweet heart that cares a lot about her friends who will do anything for them while being a strong bad ass fighter. Everything about her is amazing. Her story is sad but amazing. She is one of the best and strongest female character in video game history. I have loved Tifa since i was a kid and my love for her has only gotten stronger.

Next origins video: Cait Sith We’ve had a lot of main protagonists and antagonists. Would like something a little more unexpected. A character that people don’t really know about. Cait Sith has a really unique design as being controlled by Reeve, the Shinra Employee. I think that would be a great next video and hype for FF7 Remake.

Besides Cloud, she is my second favorite character to play with. Besides how nice they made her look, however, she's a very strong character.

This is was a great retrospective on Tifa. I heard about those stories about whether Tifa or Aerith was supposed to be in the game. Now this confirms things more clearly. I had a friend that had an issue with Tifa because he felt that because Tifa was strong why she would want to be vulnerable. So he went with Aerith because she was pretty straight forward. Despite being weak physically (not a fighter). But I recently looked into this and I began to understand Tifa and never saw her as a weak person. I always knew that this was something she projected onto Cloud, making that a connection between them. It's still can be interpreted as yanking his chain, pushing him to succeed. But this was something between "THEM". And in the end regardless of Cloud's failure of being where he wanted to be he proved to be a lot stronger than he himself realized. He just had push forward. Keep in mind that whole thing with Tifa's mother could also be a reference to Sakaguchi's mother who passed away. FF7 was sort of a homage to the producer's mother. There is so much to unpack in this portion of the story regarding Cloud and Tifa's upbringing in Nibelheim. The original game is missing a LOT of backstory and things aren't clear. We've only got more of the story through other installment games. But now is the time to really pull this together. If FF7 is going to be in instalments then depending on how much info they put in there tying things together it could be massive. We're talking about a true episodic game, like a book. This could be BIG. I was always curious about the backstory of Nibelheim as other characters in the story but I always felt like I was missing something. But what can you expect with the first FF7. It was new and still an experiment for future games. I'm glad that the creators decided to revisit and remake. It's still a money grab but it's one most wanted. In a way, this will keep Square busy for awhile considering the new installments not doing so well. Yet online is a success.
