Great info- I use a Miller Syncrowave 210 (inverter). I agree on the annoyance of high frequency, & only get around 150 if needing a lot of focus (along a thin edge). Around 60hz is much more pleasing, & I use on thicker pieces, castings, etc.

I use an everlast 250ex inverter machine. It's been a great machine but the torch that came with it sucked. I just recently installed a ck20 water cooled torch and the difference is night and day. My water cooler is a home brew that I made using a pump and a transmission cooler, the reservoir is a 1 gallon gas tank, and I use a 50/50 mix of water and antifreeze for the coolant. No fan. The tranny cooler works so well that the fluid has never risen more than 5 degrees over ambient temperature and no fan noise. It's been that way for 5 yrs with no issues.
@5thStreetFab

Thanks very much. What I would like to see or hear is more "basic" information. My mig doesn't have a chart and I didn't pay the fact much attention. Maybe someone mentioned it but some basic information needs to be repeated over and over again to enable learning. Thanks for listening.

Everlast inverter, still trying to figure out how to get a consistent bead on ac.
@5thStreetFab
@5thStreetFab 5 жыл бұрын
Nice. I think a good way is to scribe lines as thick as you want the bead and then adjusting as you weld to stay in that zone

Are you using a different lens or filter when you shoot the actual welding footage? When I use my camera, the light is way too bright and you can't see my welds. All you can see is a bright light. Those welds look awesome by the way.....Thanks.

It is a P&H AC/DC welder with a water pump for cooling the TIG torch. Most people used to call them Heli-arc welders. Mine looks like the one here: www.tristatemachinerydismantlers.com/WISCONSIN/Motors-and-tools/New/Heliarc-welder-p-h-300-amps-output-the-beast.jsp

Amazing welds as usual. Looked like you just keep your foot pedal fairly steady, rather than manipulate the pedal as you dip filler rod. Also, I noticed that you sorta tap down onto the pool with your filler rod , rather than jab into the front of the pool. I need to change my technique I guess.

Thanks I like a consistent foot pedal unless it's thick material that's not preheated. That seems to weld better with pedal pumping.
