Just a little hints something I do. Find something to brace your hand or wrist on while welding. It helps with the consistency of the weld. Makes your weld smother. Great job.

@@DIYHomesteadProjectsDIYHP10 also I've noticed there's no spatter compared to mig welding. Will it still hold up as good as a mig weld if you get the right heat and penatration?

Just remember, don’t get caught up in looks of the weld. Too many people care about what it looks like rather than does it have good penetration. Working in the field working with some amazing welders I’ve learned some of the best welds don’t look perfect. And I’ve seen some amazing welds fail. Focus on getting the right heat and penetration. That’s what you should be practicing. I’d also recommend don’t follow a lot of the “weld porn” instagrams. Many guys use full supported and automated fixtures or do some cheats to pretty their weld profile after the fact and make a lot of people have unrealistic standards of what a good or pretty weld is that a lot of guys chase for ever until they realize the tricks some of these guys do to make their welds look better than they actually are. Just like these fake Instagram models that look perfect and curvy in their photos. But in person they have no body and are butt ugly but just know angles and the poses to use 🤣

Try a little less travel angle. Everything looks good. PS Dipping comes with the territory lol Keep up the work it will sort PS I am still learning too and it is rough getting that right lol

Hey Brother just wanted to say What’s Up? New Subscriber looking for good content on GTAW. Hey y’all have to start somewhere and I’m so stoked, I just got done with wiring in a dedicated 1 Ph 240 NEMA 6-50R in my garage to get the most out of my new PrimeWeld TIG225X, CT520DP and MIG180. They say you have to get a hobby when you retire and mine is melting metal and building stuff How are you liking the PrimeWeld machine a yr later Pros/Cons? Cheers 🍻

Hey Kevin, welcome. I liked the PW and it worked ok I thought. I quit using it after I got my YesWelder TIG 250P though. I just didn't need both machines so I sold the PW machine. There were several things I liked better about the YesWelder machine so it became my main TIG machine. It has a temperature controlled fan and I really like that feature. I thought the PW was pretty loud and the fans were constant if the machine is turned on. I didn't care much for all the knobs on the PW machine. The YesWelder has a digital interface and I prefer that style over all the knobs. I think it gives more accurate settings especially in pulse mode. The YesWelder TIG 250P is about half the weight and size of the PW machine so it fits on my little welding cart much better and is easier to roll around the shop. I also feel the YesWelder has a more stable low amperage arc compared to the PW machine. People like different things and the YesWelder is a better fit for me but the PW was a good budget machine too. I wish you the best with your "melting metal hobby" and thanks for stopping by.

@@DIYHomesteadProjectsDIYHP10 Yeah I saw a review for the YW TIG machine and it looks like a solid one and especially the controls. I’m usually listening to a little Miles Davis or some guy named Coltrane so the fan noise isn’t really a thing for me I just use it for a queue that if the fan is On I’m not thinking of anything else but my puddle. Have you dropped any videos of your new machine I’ll have to keep an eye out for those for sure thanks

I am really liking this machine. I am a beginner so I don't have a lot of experience to compare it with. I can't think of anything I don't like about this machine so far. I believe it's the best budget TIG machine out there with the best warranty offered. Thanks for the nice comment on the welds. I'm having a blast learning to TIG weld with this machine. Good luck to you if you decide to get yourself a Prime Weld TIG 225X, I'm sure you will like the machine.

I completely agree with you. I don't think you can find a better machine and warranty for the money!
