Almost 9k miles. I love the bike. It is a big and heavy bike. It carries its weight high and does feel tippy at slow speeds. Great for touring and grave/dirt roads.

Omg ! Im glad you mentioned the tyre noise ! Its been driving me round the bend, as you said, at 70mph, mines between 65-75 mph

Have the same situation with tires on Tiger 850. Adv type tires are noisy on paved roads.

Glad you like it, i have the same bike but in black, the sound of the engine is really nice after 5k, that growl! I dont think its top heavy any more or less than a large comparable bike, fun to ride.

I do love the bike. It’s not ridiculously too heavy, but it is too heavy. Once your moving it’s not noticeable… but in slow speed technical stuff we must be careful

Good looking bike, thanks for sharing and No British accent so I can understand LOL. How does it do in the turns on the street with the 21" wheel?
@teammotu
@teammotu 18 күн бұрын
It does really well on the street. The bike is fast and zips thru the turns very well also. I think folks make too much out of the 21" wheel thing. Unless you are a track day rider you will be able to hit the curves as quick as you would on a normal street bike. Usually I pull away from the sport bikes when riding together... up to about 130 mph.... this bike has a speed limiter and that's a good thing. It doesn't feel real stable at the 137 limiter speed. But up to about 120-130 mph you'll think you are on a very big sport bike. :-) I have three bikes now, and this one by far is my favorite on the street and for touring. It does fine on dirt roads, but the real tough technical stuff is for smaller bikes in my opinion. It will do it... but you will feel the weight, and if you fall over it is hard to pick up. I love the bike though, and I don't see me getting rid of it any time soon. I'm over 12000 miles now and eager for my next long adventure trip. My other bikes are a 22 KLR 650 and a 24 KLX300

@@teammotu Hey thanks for your reply to me, this is awesome news and what I kind-of expected about the big front wheel. Yeah No I won't be pushing the front tire thru the turns like a moto GP racer LOL. It really seems like a good do it all bike or machine as I call it, I won't be tearing it up off road either, just the right amount of versatility for me. I definitely want one over the GT now and you don't see many around here in Texas. I've had a KLR before but I think this will Trump that. Take care.

Another 1200 Rally pro owner from D.C. area here! I always thought that annoying whine was from the wind aerodynamics! It starts around 65, peaks at 70, and goes away by 75. I find myself always going above and below that level. I had that Puig windscreen extender, ended up just getting a Puig windscreen replacement- that works much better, and wierdly, was almost the same price.
@teammotu
@teammotu 5 ай бұрын
The whine is certainly the tires IMO. A slightly taller windshield would be great. I do like the adjustability of the extender. It came in handy on my cross country trip when riding through the heat and then then the snow on the same day

Definitely. I replaced the tires with the Trailmax Raid, and it mostly went away. Amazing set of tires, really transfored the bike, on and off pavement. @@teammotu

I use the quick shifter after 2nd gear, only as i find it difficult to get my toe under the gear shifter, i took the rubbers off the foot pegs to give me a better angle on my foot, This is probably because ive lowered the seat and my leg angle is tighter
@teammotu
@teammotu 9 ай бұрын
I use the lower seat also, and also removed the peg rubber. But the bike is very comfortable. A bit tall and top heavy, but I really do enjoy the bike.

I have 2,000 miles on my bike now and switching the tires out tomorrow to Dunlop trailmax missions. Those Metzeler Karoos scream so loud from 60 to 80 its unbearable. They are the worst tire I have ever had on any bike. I got twelve thousand miles out of my last set of missions on my 900 rally Pro. Almost zero noise compared to these POSs. Use the quick shifter. It's one of the top features of that bike.

Can I check if you always ride with a tank bag full ? Because I have the rally explorer with the 30l tank but don’t find it top heavy even on a full tank. In fact the slow speed control is very good. Hence asking. Happy riding
@teammotu

The tank bag is almost empty. To me, the bike is top heavy compared to other bikes I’ve owned and have rode. But I love the bike. The top heaviness isn’t super bad or even bad… but it’s there. Compared to the BMW, the Tiger is top heavy. I’ve got 12k miles on it now and I picked the right bike for me. It did absolutely brilliantly on my 7000 mile road trip.

I have a Rally Explorer and yes, it's definitely a bit top heavy. I got used to it though. The only issue I have with low speed maneuverability is that silly anti stall feature, constantly blipping the throttle on me. I've had people ask why I'm doing that. I'm not. The bike is! 🤦‍♂️
@teammotu
@teammotu 3 ай бұрын
@@Kevimoto The slow speed stuff is a bit easier now that the suspension will lower by holding the Home button. That's a nice feature. On my 7k Mile trip the bike did great, on road and off road out near Moab. These are big bikes though, no getting around it. I love it... and I have a smaller bike for the more challenging off road stuff
@Kevimoto
@Kevimoto 3 ай бұрын
@teammotu I'm used to the feel of it off road now. It's just that ridiculous throttle revving up and down is my only issue. I wish I could disable it. I got my preload update late in the year last year, so I didn't get a chance to use it off road. Does it work in off road or off road pro mode?

The Karoo tyres are a real disaster. Not only the noise, it is also that they are really bad in wet conditions. I am looking fwd to changing these asap.

I find them to be a solid street tire, even in rain. Where the pucker factor starts is when you hit a gravel road. 👀

Can I ask you for a link to the windshield extension you installed? I just bought this today....also the foot pegs?
