4/17/2016 Look for the shadow of the shark to the right of the tiki hut pole in the middle of the bay. It swims towards the beach slowly. You can't see a fin, it's just a shadow (setting expectations for this video 6 years later)

I’m going to try snorkeling at the mala boat ramp and I’m really hoping I can see some white tip reefs or maybe something more rare if I’m lucky. I think a tiger would be a little scary though.

First time to Maui. Bumped into a Tiger on 3/15/21 at A SW snorkeling spot. It was terrifying, mesmerizing, and amazing at the same time. I understand it is rare thing although Maui is a Tiger favorite. It was not aggressive in the least but came within 6-8’ of me. I would estimate it to have been about 12’ + long. Middle of the day. Quite the jump to go from reef fish to a Tiger. I will continue to snorkel - I just wished I had caught it on camera.

This scene is a perfect example of the disturbing nature of human behavior. Watch carefully and take notice of the "excitement" in everyone's voices and body language. You'd think they were standing in line waiting for their turn on a roller coaster ride or something. They're just so excited that there's people in the water with a shark in the area. Some of them are even running to get a closer look. Deep down inside, although none of them will ever admit it, they WANT something to happen. They are WAITING for something to happen because that will give their vacations a little extra excitement, and it will give them a HUGE story to post on their Facebook pages and to tell anyone who has ears when they get home. This is why if a suicide jumper is perched at the top of a building, spectators will gather below to watch. This is why if there is a horrific car crash on the freeway, people will slow down to rubber neck. I also witnessed when a swimmer was pulled out of the water unconscious and blue. As lifeguards performed CPR, a huge crowd circled around to observe, cell phones recording the entire event. Kinda disturbing that people are this way.

Well it's not an everyday occurrence when tragic things happen. People will watch for many different reasons. Some in shock and can't believe what they're witnessing. Anyone recording something that's tragic happening though is messed up.
@user-sg8kq7ii3y2 жыл бұрын
@@seasea11 Agreed. Back in the day, when they conducted public executions by hanging, people used to show up in huge crowds to witness them. WHAT is it in the psychology of humans that attracts us to these types of things? Is it just plain curiosity? Or is it something more disturbing that we all have within us?

I keep telling that “social network” are unsocial and that our society is rotting. The aggression and hostility mixed with gloating satisfaction needed nowadays to entertain people is just disgusting. Voyeurism and cruelty just became the only way to give people a thrill and entertainment, we are doomed to extinct ourselves…

Majority of shark attacks in past century have been unprovoked. they have one mission in life and that's to eat anything and everything with flesh and blood. sharks definitely don't discriminate.

I was in the water with my child. Saw everyone yelling and waving to get out of the water. Hard to tell but I think we were about half way back to shore when this video begins. We started near where they jump in the water from the tall rocks. Quite an experience. We stayed in the pool after that. Thanks for posting and to all those who yelled from the beach. Never did actually see the shark.

I have been in those waters many times. I have seen sharks before, but they never bothered me or even headed my way (they always seemed skittish and darted off). I'm sure there is a certain danger to them. I mean it is their habitat and they are always on the hunt for an easy meal (i.e. injured or dying fish) that won't take too much energy to consume or chase.

Just be careful about boogie boarding or surfing. The shark will see the shape of the board and your arms thinking it is a seal or another creautre and might accidentaly attack you. Although I don't think this will happen because sharks in this area don't eat seals because there aren't any.
