In golf played through and won with plenty of injuries. And also if you are smart enough which I don't think you are.... Try to swing a golf club with a broken leg and win a PGA tour event or swing a golf club with a back injury and pinched nerve. Tiger made golf what it is today and all players know that. I know injuries and to swing a golf club with a broken leg or fucked up back is something that would ruin your body.

I would love to know when he stated becoming a winner again? He only had 2 wins in 2019, 1 win in 2018 and before that he had 5 wins in 2013. He had a 4 year dry spell from 2014 thru 2017. The Masters win in 2019 was a fluke! The Zozo championship is not considered to be that important. That is not the sign of a winner, but a mere mediocre touring pro. Just take a look at his earnings on the tour over the past 10 to 15 years. I just can't figure out how he was selected to Captain the Presidents Cup. Then he has the gall to choose himself to be a player. Talk about an egotist. He needs to concentrate on his game and hope he can begin to play well again.

You don't seem to undertand how golf works, or professional sports works in general. There is such a thing as rust in all sports, especially a sport with as little margin for error as golf. Athletes need to play their way into top form. Its a fine balance between trying to play your way into top form, and pushing it too hard to where it affects your performance negatively.

If you know and play golf, you would know how hard it is even to win a local tournament at your golf club. You should know it is not a FLUKE to win a golf tournament. There were many top players from around the world both at Masters and ZoZo. The fact that you calling it a fluke shows you don' t really know about golf.

You do have certain points about it being all small fields that he won. Tour championship was 30 players with no cut and same with ZoZo. The Masters is the smallest field for all of the majors and he definitely lucked into that win bc of Francisco Mollinari going in the water. But at the same time, he is still really good bc he doesn't choke when he is luckily in those positions. -from a legitimate golf fans who bets regularly on PGA, European tour, LPGA, and PGA Champions.

Thank you David! You do have many valid points. I was merely trying to point out that the news media and a lot of sports nuts worship at the alter of Tiger Woods. I, myself always thought Tiger was over marketed. However, he is a good golfer. He would take chances that no one else would take. Needless to say, his gambles paid off. However, as the years go by we tend to lose some of our capabilities and Tiger has lost some of his. Too many people live in the past and think Tiger will always be a golf great. Suffice it to say, he won't. I believe his time has come and people need to realize it. Thanks David for your kind words. The Tour Championship is a small field yes - but do you guys understand why? The field is made up of the top 30 players who all had to qualify through playoffs or World ranking - Tiger not only came back in 2018 to qualify for that event by playing incredible golf, but also beat the best players in the World. The Master's is also made up of only the top players (winners on PGA Tour, World ranking, and previous winners). Tiger is ranked 7th in the WORLD! That should be enough for you doubters, but unfortunately, many of you who don't like Tiger (for some reason) don't really understand how difficult golf is or how much talent is required for someone to make this kind of comeback - especially against the talent we have on Tour today. There was a reason Tiger was, and is, 'over-marketed' (I think you mean over-hyped) - He won 14 majors in the span of one decade, won 82 events (not including 11 non-PGA events he won), and was ranked number 1 in the World for 13 years (683 weeks). Tiger also did not miss a cut in a 7 year stretch - NO OTHER GOLFER EVEN COMES CLOSE TO THOSE THAT RECORD! And, he held all four majors in a row - the Tiger Slam. Those are facts! Now, is he the same golfer today? Clearly not, but many thought he would never play again, much less win another major. Listen, I understand that it's fun to take shots at famous people placed on a pedestal. Americans love to build them up cut them down - that's your prerogative, but, It's more fulfilling, ultimately, to cheer for something that's rarely witnessed in a lifetime and to be able to say to your grandkids that "I was there when Tiger made his comeback." Oh, and he's also the reason golfers on tour are playing for million dollar purses - even the players he beat regularly in his prime (like Phil Mickelson) give him credit for changing the face of golf, and making it a popular sport for the masses. Tiger is quite simply the greatest athlete of our generation.

Please understand that I am, in no way, taking anything away from Tiger for his accomplishments. I'm sure everyone realizes that I'm not a big fan of Tiger and that is true. My loyalties lie with such greats as Arnold Palmer, Gary Player, Lee Trevino, and the true gentleman of golf, Freddie Couples. Phil Mickelson is my favorite lefty. However, there is no reason to believe that Tiger will ever surpass the accomplishments of Jack Nicholas, especially today with all of Tigers physical problems. My only point is that so many golf fans and the sports media fail to realize that Tiger is a mere human and not some type of golf god, so stop worshiping him.
