(4 Sep 2014) A huge security operation was underway on Thursday around the Celtic Manor Resort in Newport, the venue of a high-stakes NATO summit.
US President Barack Obama and British Prime Minister David Cameron are among dozens of NATO leaders in attendance at the Welsh golf resort for the two-day summit.
The crisis in Ukraine and the drawdown of the alliance's mission in Afghanistan are among the issues high on the summit's agenda.
Yet much of the action could take place on the sidelines, where American and British leaders are expected to drum up support for an international response to confronting Islamic State militants in Iraq and Syria.
