Last time l crawled into a cave like this l was on my belly and came nose to nose with the biggest Copperhead of my life. How l didn't get bit in the face is nothing short of a miracle.

Hey Chigg, I just had a brain function while watching this video! It’s a very good thing that you aren’t older and served in the army back in the late 60’s to early 70’s as I think you would have been volunteered;) to be a tunnel rat hunter!!! Remember to watch out for booby traps? You never know who or what is lurking in those caves! As always stay safe and healthy.

I will be sticking to your above ground expeditions Chig . Long time subscriber here. I did enjoy the cave discovery of some years past with the many beautiful stalagmites and stalactites but the rock and hard place issues here.! Beautiful cave! I had to crawl through water once in a cave. We had to lay on our backs and the ceiling was only a couple of inches above us.

That gave me claustrophobia!! I would have been overwhelmed by having to squeeze back through the way I'd come!! About a hundred pounds ago, I'd have thought about venturing in there!!!...lol

Okay, you already had my anxiety level up, then you mention water moccasins. This was a tough one, Beau. Saw a few expressions on your face that I've never seen before. Really, really, happy we're both still here (as I start to breathe again!).

I enjoy seeing you back in the caves again! I have always liked your spelunking adventures. At the 7:15 mark you summed up my current caving status! I just got too old to do it anymore, and am a bit more "round" than in my younger days, so I cannot quite fit in some of the passages that I "pushed" back in the day. I sure do miss it though! This cave reminded me of several that we had explored, and the only way we could get through some passages were to remove our helmets and keep our noses against the ceiling and move slow enough so as to not create waves that would wash over our face. And YES, that water is COLD!!!! Obviously, we had checked ALL WEATHER FORECASTS, near and far, to be sure there was not a threat of rain. It is amazing how it can rain a long way away, and yet the watershed would drain into a cave MILES AWAY. My only concern for you is that it appears you are by yourself. With that said, I also know that you always leave word with your wife and, or, friends, so that they know where you are.

You're doing something you love and understand the risks. I've watched enough of your videos to recognize that smile as you share another adventure. Time to watch.

Reminded me of the cave where my cloths froze before I got back to the truck. It was a struggle to get out of them. The coldest I have ever been. I have to say I do ( did ) enjoy exploring the holes in the ground.

A friend and I explored a cave that reminded me of this about a year ago. Thankfully we were certain of how to get back out, thinking about taking the metal detector back in there next time because we did find some old bottles. Deep in the heart of Tennessee.

Ok CHIGG. I have watched you for many years and all of your videos and yes your caving videos. The only reason you are having trouble squeezing through those cracks is the large boulders you have that keeps getting in the way. Sorry I know this is a family channel. But they have too get in the way. Awesome video but yeah I think you should leave that one alone. Have you been back to opossum Rex cave lately. It started as a crack beside the road. We joked about the name opossum Rex name. You actually let one of your friends name it. If I remember correctly you get too name the cave if you’re the first ever to enter. Thanks 👍👍👍
