I just ordered one. I've preferred propane firepits in the past, but with the "smokeless" technology now available I thought I'd try a wood firepit. Also, the propane ones have gotten really expensive, a few hundred dollars now. Plus, no fun running out of propane in the middle of a party!

Thank you for this review! By far the best I've seen on this fire pit. I've been really wanting to get this, but have been on the fence between the Breeo for durability and the Tiki for convenience sake. How do you feel about the durability of the tiki fp long term? Do you anticipate this fire pit will last many years? Also is it still pretty simple to light a fire without the pellets, using just wood?

Mine arrived. After watching your video and seeing the minor challenge of flipping the fire pit to install the base I opened the box upside down in order to more easily screw on the base while the fire pit remained in the box with the bottom facing up. The box has instructions to open it right side up which I obviously did not do thanks to your video. It all worked out nicely. Thanks again for the vid!

About 5 inches of the ground I've had to place my hands under it while the blaze was going, wasn't super hot considering. Must have something to do with heat rising or something. To be safe you can place it on pavers.

Question, if you could answer it . . . How is the radiant heat coming off the sides? A lot of these smokeless fire pits throw a lot of heat straight up, but don't seem to put out heat to the sides, meaning sitting next to them in winter is somewhat useless compared to a standard fire pit. Thank you so much for your time!
@teckinmylifebyeuanhenry1353
@teckinmylifebyeuanhenry1353 3 жыл бұрын
That's actually a valid point, and I tend to agree with you, this fire pit definitely throws a lot of heat upward but it still radiate outward enough to keep me my wife our son warm, the trick is to keep the fire big.

Can you burn bulk store bought pellets in the fire pit? The Tiki Fire Packs are pricey and Tiki would not give me a straight answer when I asked this question. I would think if you can use their pellets in a pack you should be able to burn loose bulk purchased pellets as well. After all once the pack starts burning the pellets fall out and burn so what's the difference besides lighting them to start the fire. Tiki was no help, they want you to buy their pellet packs (which are expensive compared to the others you can buy just about anyplace).
@teckinmylifebyeuanhenry1353
@teckinmylifebyeuanhenry1353 3 жыл бұрын
Yes, I do, I bought two bags from Home Depot for around $7, it's more difficult to light but once you get a good fire going everything you put into the fire pit ignite's fairly quickly
@mikesr3011

@@teckinmylifebyeuanhenry1353 Thank you very much. Appreciate your answering this. I like the Tiki but their fuel is too expensive (for me) to use. I don't wan't a wood burner because of the wood storage and the smoke, they stink! I am also considering a propane fire pit. Easy to use and no storage issues. I'm in the process of fixing up my yard so I still have time to consider pellet or propane.

I just got one of these. Their bag is nice & easy and I imagine if you put another one of their bags on as an addition, it would probably work fine. For the bulk - I got 40lbs bags from TSC - used some fluid to get them started, was going great. The problem is when adding additional loose pelleted. Even just a small amount. Smoke smoke smoke - like a LOT, until the pellets ignite which can take 5 minutes or more even when adding to existing flaming hot pellets…
@mikesr3011
@mikesr3011 2 жыл бұрын
@@Ncoastjack Thanks for the info. I haven't bought one yet. Still looking at other options. I see that pellet pits are somewhat finicky and can produce smoke if not attended to correctly. But then again so do wood fires. Personally I don't want something that needs baby sitting or creates a ton of smoke! It's supposed to be something you enjoy.

These "smokeless" fire pits seem to push the packaged wood pellets. You can have a smokeless fire in anything with wood pellets. Unfortunate situation for all of these smokeless fire pits is.... if you burn wood, you need to have that thing burning aggressively for the catalytic smokeless burn to work. Extremely hot and aggressive for a leisurely patio fire.
@Icutmetal
@Icutmetal 2 жыл бұрын
These “smokeless” fire pits are intended for use with dry, seasoned logs. The pellet packs are marketed towards John Q Homeowner & millennial types, in my opinion.
@wkw4095

@@Icutmetal I would go with the Breeo for the heavy duty steel.... the sides actually generate heat so you feel something while sitting next to it. I decided not to have any backyard fire pit. I have a wood burning stove going 24/7 all winter so I get my fire fix this way. Also, I would like to discourage my adult children using my home as a resort vacation property while we travel and adding the fire pit adds more worry for me. :)
