In this video Jericho & Thunder try the Tiki Cat After Dark Variety Pack Canned Cat Food, 2.8-oz, case of 12 www.chewy.com/tiki-cat-after-...
We were very pleased with this variety pack, and we will buy more of these flavors in the future. Each of the recipes had a good moisture content and were minimally processed. This was a very healthy choice for Jericho & Thunder, and they both loved eating it.
All of the recipes were chicken based and included organ meat of liver, gizzards, and heart.

About Jericho & Thunder:
Jericho was born in 2007 and was adopted from the Humane Society on September 28, 2007, as an 8-week-old kitten. She is either a Korat or a Russian Blue.
Thunder was born in 2009 and was adopted from an animal rescue shelter on July 21, 2017, as an 8-year-old senior cat. His breed is unknown.

I feed my cats on an elevated/raised surface because it aids in their digestion and is more comfortable for them. Thanks! This variety pack and the Queen Emma Luau variety pack were our two favorites of the 4 Tiki Cat variety packs that we tried. The cats liked all of the recipes in each of these packs. ☺

Thanks for posting up the ingredient list on the video! I have a 15 year old cat that has issues with any fish or seafood products in her foods and was considering adding this food to her diet. Line 6 shows Tuna Oil on each flavor. Something you want to avoid if you have cats with urinary tract issues.

I started my kitten on the tiki cat variety pack and he loved them but the after dark hits him DIFFERENT, he's 10 weeks and finishes and entire small can in under 20 minutes

I appreciate your reviews. I get to see what it looks like before I try anything with Remy. I like that this is shredded. I may try this for Remy and hope he will eat it. I have never tried beef or duck or pork which I didn't know cats could eat pork. It must be some good food since Jericho ate it up so fast lol.

Thanks! Yes, she really loved it. The good thing about these variety packs is that there are only two cans of each flavor, so you don't have a bunch of something that the cat may not like. These all seemed very similar to each other. I really couldn't see much of a difference between each one, other than the one that had the egg in it. I wonder if they tasted any different from each other.

I really like how much the Tiki cat food looks like a plate of something us humans might eat. I like to feed my cats real honest to goodness healthy food that they also find to be delicious. Because of your videos I am definitely going to look into Tiki cat food. My budget is tight, but if I think I can afford it, I"m going to try Silver & Blaze with their food too. Thanks for the great video! *^_^*

Thanks for watching! I hope that it works out for you! The Tiki Cat is some of the more expensive cat food. But, I figure that it saves me money on vet bills in the long run, and my cats will be happier and feel better.

You're very welcome! And I totally understand your thinking. I have that same thinking, both with my cats and with my own diet. So if I can afford to give them the Tiki food, and if they like it, I will. I usually give them both wet and dry cat food anyway. And I really like your honest and candid approach to showing us how Jericho and Thunder go for the various foods, and what it looks like and its ingredients. It isn't always easy to find honest reviews on things that you can trust. *^_^*

My pleasure. I'm not getting paid to do them, and I purchase the items myself, so that probably makes a difference . A few years ago Jericho would NOT eat pate,, and she was very particular about the texture, so I always wanted to see what it looked like ahead of time. She's become less picky over the years, so it's not as crucial for me to know in advance as it used to be, but I figure there are other people who would like to know this information, so that's why I always show what the food looks like.

I've been feeding my cat one of these cans every 2 days or so. The other days she has dry food with salmon or duck. When I feed the tiki I split the can up in thirds and feed throughout the day and night. She absolutely loves this tiki food. The dry food I feed her is duck or salmon from Fromm. I noticed it's not good to feed her the wet food everyday, and is better to give only 2 times a week at max 3.

Dry kibble is not good for cats. You absolutely can move to 100% wet food. Kibble has been shown to cause kidney disease due to the complete lack of water. Cats have a low thirst drive, and (especially adults) most cats don't drink enough water alone. This is why kibble (dry food) can lead to severe kidney issues later in life

@@joesaiditstrue my cat has her own water fountain and drinks all day long, I get what your saying, it's too expensive for me to give her wet food all the time though. She is an outside cat semi think most cats with thirst problems are locked inside their whole life.

There was an actual quail egg in each can. Jericho and Thunder eat better than I do lol. Of course, they are not as picky as I am because I would never try quail haha. I will say most of the cans looked just like the chicken soup I make without the noodles. It sounds gross but some of these foods they have been trying would make me curious enough to actually try them lol. I laughed so hard when Jericho jumped back on the counter at the end to come back and finish :)

Our boys love Tiki! But local store sells mostly tuna mixes, and Nine is allergic to it. Yes, I hace a cat allergic to fish.... But anyways, when I can, I get Tiki chicken. It is one of the best cat foods out there!

Thanks for watching! I have found that about a quarter of Tiki's food is tuna based, so I plan to avoid those flavors in the future. My Jericho isn't allergic to tuna, but she's not a big fan, at least as far as red tuna is concerned. Tiki Cat isn't sold locally for me, so I can only order it online.

My cat stopped eating. I struggled to find something he would eat, and not vomit up. It got down to him eating “meal toppers” that are basically nothing but chicken, water, and a little gaur gum. He also enjoys the Applaws band. But this is missing the added vitamins cats probably need, and doesn’t seem to be very filling. Tiki cat seems to be a good compromise of a complete nutrition statement I like, and whole shedded food style that kitty likes. Unfortunately, Henry has become an expensive cat to feed, but he does seem to be getting back to a healthy weight.

Thank you so very much! Typically I rotate the fish so that they just get one or two servings a week. However, when I am doing a review series they eat whatever I am reviewing, which could be all poultry or all fish.

Great question! When I am reviewing a variety pack, they eat only that variety pack, until we finish that pack. They are fed twice a day, so a variety pack with 6 flavors takes 3 days. The last 2-3 weeks we have been reviewing one variety pack after another, and I rotated the companies and the type of food when I did them. We had 4 Tiki Cat variety packs, and so we reviewed different companies in between each Tiki Cat review video. This video was the last of our food reviews for a little while.

My cats don't get table scraps or other food, so they are usually hungry at meal times. When they turn their nose up at something they have to wait until the next meal. They will usually eat whatever I give them, when they realize that's it. It probably sounds awful, but I was a picky eater growing up, and I sure wish my parents had done that with me instead of giving in to me. Jericho learned this about 5 years ago when I switched her to wet food. It took her awhile, but she eventually learned to eat what I gave her. I seldom have issues with her not eating, but I can tell when she's not fond of something by her lack of enthusiasm. Thunder is a good eater and doesn't give me any trouble. They get fed 3 times a day. Morning and evening is wet food, and mid-day is dry food. Regarding leaving the plate, whenever they don't finish something at their regular mealtime, I add a little extra water to it so that they can come back to it later without it drying out.

Are those just regular clear containers flipped upside down, or its a cat specific item?

They are regular clear containers with the lids removed and flipped upside down. Having cats eat on an elevated surface aids in their digestion. I looked online at several items that were specifically marketed for pets several years ago, and most were designed for more than one bowl. Experts say not to have their water dish directly beside the food dish, and most were designed for that. The ones designed for single bowls were either too expensive, they just weren't the correct height or size for my bowls, or I didn't like the way they looked. I had been on several websites and was feeling quite frustrated. Then one day it occurred to me to try one of these containers that I already had, and it was perfect.
