The Nui Nui is from Don the Beachcomber in Hollywood, CA in 1937. McBiff stops by to talk about his brand new Aloha shirt that he designed.

To make Don the Beachcomber's Nui Nui:
--------------------------------------
1/2oz fresh lime juice
1/2oz fresh orange juice
1/4oz cinnamon-infused sugar syrup
1/4oz Don's Spices #2 or Tiki Spices from BG Reynolds
2oz amber Virgin Island's rum
1 dash Angostura bitters
--------------------------------------
Combine ingredients in mixer tin. Flash blend with crushed ice. Pour into tall chimney glass. Garnish with orange peel.

Don't sweat the analytics for length of vids, have fun and make them how you make them. I think our view lengths always end up about half the vid no matter what length because some watch all the way and some click off right away. What are you gonna do. Another fun video 😁👍

@@BreezewayCocktailHour Once you have established a lot of subs (which you have) your subscribers will override the "algorithm". It's more important when establishing your channel and getting KZfaq to suggest your channel and videos to non-subs. We really enjoy the longer videos with the post drink making conversations.

So much fun! Glad I was able to still jump on and grab that shirt! I remember seeing the design and the Bahooka holds a special place for me as a kid growing up in the San Gabriel Valley. My true first introduction to tiki as a kid in the 70s. Keep it up Spike!

@@BreezewayCocktailHour Just curious if similar Rum brands were used in the original recipes?... Tiki seems to be stylistically Polynesian... Micronesia... Oceanic... Yet the run drinks are from the Caribbean mostly?... A friend of mine once said tiki is what you make it... I think it is really in the vision of Vic and Don in the recipes and style of the past.. It is very unfortunate that all of these places and bars in most cities in North America are being decimated. In my city tiki hasn't existed since 1962. The Beachcomber was located in the Carlton Motor Hotel in Winnipeg; the motel opened in 1961, and the Beachcomber was open during the '60s. The restaurant had a "starlit sky" ceiling and had thatched huts and an open "steak pit" area where patrons could see chefs at work. An alcove dining area had a float, tapa, and beachcomber lamps. The Carlton Motor Hotel is now the Carlton Inn, and the non-Polynesian restaurant on-site is called Paragon. Now the only great thing is our hockey team and music... Apartments sound's about right. lol...

Has anyone experienced Sonic ice melting in the freezer? Every time I get ice from Sonic it literally melts while in the freezer, the bottom of the bag turns into a solid block of ice.

Had a buddy who'd lived on St Croix, right after college. He said Cruzan [the rum we were drinking] is pronounced Crew' Zsan, with a 'Zha' or 'Zsa' like Zsa Zsa Gabor. Also someone from Barbados is a ''Bajan'' [rhymes with Cajun]. I'm a little confused -- if you add 1/4 oz Cinnamon syrup, what's in Don's Spices #2? Cinnamon and cinnamon?
