I've purchased 16 Tikka rifles in the last year. Every single one of them has a new lighter trigger spring. $8 from Anarchy Outdoors. No need to replace the trigger at all. The factory Tikka triggers are the best I've experienced and I've been fortunate to own over 50 rifles, factory and full custom. That's the first upgrade I recommend. All of my triggers are now just over 1 pound, which is perfect for me Second most important upgrade is changing out the recoil pad with a limbsaver. I decided to keep the factory polymer bottoms and mags simply because they are light weight. Wouldn't mind the aluminum replacements but I've personally not found the need yet I did convert my first tikka. It's a 308. Now has a Brux barrel and AG Composite stock and is cerakoted. I also recently completed my second conversion. New stainless T3x Lite 300WM donor rifle, now a 7PRC. Bought a Stocky's stock inletted for the Proof CF barrel. Also bought the barrel at year end sale from Stocky's stocks as well. The year end price on the stock was $350 and the pre-fit Tikka Proof carbon barrel was $751. It's 24" threaded muzzle 5/8-24. I paid my gunsmith $50 to change out barrels. I swapped the stock and went shooting. 1/2" groups out of the gate with factory Federal 175 ELDX, Hornady ELDX, and Hornady ELDM. My total costs for everything was under $2000 on that 7PRC Tikka My favorite characteristic about Tikka is they only have one action length. I also have a Tikka 300WSM

Just bought a tikka 300 WM with the exact same plan of making it a 7 PRC. Same barrel and stock choice as well

@@scottmclean2389 One of the best decisions I've ever made. If you've not ordered the stock or barrel yet, call Stocky's and ask for KIM. Tell her I sent you. No promises but may get end of year prices

I picked up a t3x new an replaced plastic bottom to the atlas bottom metal as well as the long bolt stop an put the rifle in a bell&carlson stock made the rifle a complete different rifle. The long stop used for a short action calibre is simply to allow seating bullets out as needed with out concern for mag length works perfectly.

I bought a T3X, I've had it stock for about 2 months and I will agree the action and trigger is something you would find on a custom rifle. Best mod I did was the replacing the plastic trigger guard for a metal one. Beautiful rifle, only thing it needs is a nice set of glass

Great video, just wanted to say 35 INCH pounds torque on the action screws. Don't go 35 pounds or you will be in some world of hurt.

I visited with a Tikka rep about the steel lug "upgrade". The rep asked me why aluminum was more expensive than steel and why do I suppose they switched to a less expensive option. It turns out that aluminum actually works better for accuracy however, due to consumer demands Tikka switched to a steel lug but only to satisfy consumers who were demanding the less expensive option. Why consumers believe there smarter than the people who build Tikka rifles remains a mystery

I would also add metal magazines. I have 3 T3x's and one T1x. I have picatinny rails, metal magazines, metal bottom on them all. All upgrades are from mountain tactical. I have 3 round ahd higher capicity mags for them all. They all shoot .5 moa, for real.

$10 trigger spring will get you down to about 1.5 and pleasurable to shoot. Way better than 3lb pulls

I own three Tikka rifles, I no longer use them because I will only hunt and shoot suppressed, Tikka makes a great rifle no doubt but they are way behind when it comes to threaded barrels. They need to get onboard with all their rifles.
@DanielMann-gq8fi3 ай бұрын
I just bought a t3x roughtech, came threaded. Just wish it had a bit shorter barrel, it’s 24” and will be a little long once I put a suppressor on.
@dominicjohnson84273 ай бұрын
A good riflesmith will thread a barrel, here in the uk all centre fire rifles are threaded for surpressors

Love my tikka T3 but I. Australia we will go to prison for along time if caught with a suppressor
@cakeeee43 ай бұрын
The Tikka CTR is threaded There's not really enough meat on the regular barrel to thread and still get Tikka level accuracy at the weight. The CTR barrel is a bit of a chonker because of that.
@KevinMcGrath-777Ай бұрын
That's funny. I have a t3x super varmint coming wednesday It's fully threaded with a five eighth twenty four

You are talking more money and more weight. I bought my Tika because it was light at a descent price. Mind shoots very well the way it is. I find you're defeating the purpose of this rifle.
@WayStedYou3 ай бұрын
You know what is more money? cracking the plastic flootplate on a hunt and his titanium bolt already negates the few grams the bottom metal would weigh
