artists like unotheactivist / carti / pierre borne / summrs n autumn popularized plugg a few yrs ago. some classic sounds from nexus and such are commonly used. big rnb influence is usually there too. tiktok producers have been flipping it lately with pitched up vocals from pop songs def don't know all the lore, didn't mean to offend anyone. was a fun prompt for a challenge either way

As the Name suggests Plugg‘n‘B originates from the words Plugg and Blues, referring to the Producer Group Beat Pluggz who are known for combining R‘n‘B like synth melodies with simplistic Trap drums. (For example: MexikoDro, Stoopidxool, Summrs, Fulcrum) I also have no idea where the sampling 2000s pop hits part came from lmao

Wait how is the different than hyperpop? If 100 Gecs is hyperpop and so is Umru, Sophie and does Arca count? Either way. Then this kinda Charlie XCX, Grimes kinda stuff easily fits with all the more typical hyperpop that you would hear on any hyperpop playlist that exists between those two extremes. There is no way these needs a different genre name at all. Like in no way whatsoever .

Because none of the tracks in this video is actual pluggnb. Pluggnb is simply just rnb melodies mixed with plugg drums, that's it. You should listen to artists like summrs, autumn, corey lingo, lil shine, etc. to get a good idea of what pluggnb is, hope this comment helps.
