Hi, I'm Charlotte Dobre. I'm an actor, reactor, singer and sometimes (not really) comedian. On this channel I do reactions, commentary and occasionally I make a joke or two. I love poking fun at social media, weddings, entitled people, tiktok and OF COURSE petty people. I upload daily, usually 7 days a week, unless life gets crazy or I get lazy. Come hang out, it's a good time.

I’ve got a sister who stays traumatized. No matter what is going on with you, she’s gone through worse. You broke a toe? She broke three. You went through a tornado? She went through a tsunami, floated to a different island, ate coconuts for five years to survive, and was finally taken to the US by a passing tanker who just happened to see her on the beach. Honestly, she’s exhausting.

As a chef of 25 years I can say with certainty that depending on how you get a steak cooked, a 30% reduction in weight after cooking is very reasonable. Plus it looks like a chain steak house like outback or Texas Road House, so it may even be frozen and cryovac sealed. Which means it would have given off a lot of liquid in the freezing thawing process, and likely weighed 7.5-8oz by the time it hit the grill, if it was 9oz when they cut and packaged it. I can also tell by looking that's a head cut of a tenderloin, so it's 2 separate muscles coming together, and there is a lot of connective tissue and fat between them that melts away.

It's still a ripoff, if someone orders a 9oz steak, they expect to be SERVED a 9oz steak, you can try this justifying it as being the pre cooked weight all you want but it don't fly cause that ain't what the customer ordered.

@myrixica4222 That is not how the food industry works. When you go to the grocery store and buy raw meat, chicken, or fish, you pay per pound. That cost includes non edible product (bone, cartilage) and water. Nobody gets mad when they pay for a 1 pound steak at home but only eat 10 oz of it. Restaurants mark up for profit and so do grocery stores. Don't eat out because anybody giving you 9 oz of edible yield is making you pay for the 12 to 14 oz as purchased product.

I really relate to the second story because I was engaged once after being with the guy for about 6 years and we where planning a wedding and I had already bought the dress and everything. Well I ended up pregnant and my fiancé was getting deployed for most of my pregnancy in the middle of the ocean. I’m sending him letters and putting money on his phone card (my money btw) and I’m also planning a wedding all alone and dealing with motions and everything that comes with being pregnant. WELLL, I find out through a dm that he’s cheating and had been cheating on me for almost a year. So to me that meant he was cheating when I got pregnant and shortly after we got engaged. I was so heart broken but the worse part is not even that he broke my heart and I had to hear it from her. It wasn’t even the fact that he also gave her the address to ship to write him letter OR the fact that he was using MY money to call her. No no… the worst part was when I went to my OBGYN appointment and was told my babies heartbeat couldn’t be found and I needed surgery… it was a hard time and there is so much more to the story but I really feel for that woman that stayed… she’ll get tired one day. We all do.

She didn't really like it but felt she had to to keep her hubby. It was a Reddit story and she was so delulu she kept yelling at women from my country advising her against polygamy for being greedy since her hubby's girl said she was okay with it and hubby said all women in my country love polygyny.

“You’re a great storyteller” is one of the first disagreements I’ve had with charlotte in a while. Screaming and shaking the phone around, elongating every few words and fast forwarding the rest to the point that my ADHD ass got completely lost halfway through… it was HARD to sit through that. Plus, she just, doesn’t sound like the good person in this situation. So what if he stayed out all night with the boys? She checked his location and saw he was where he said he was. Maybe he just, decided to stay the night at his buddy’s bc he drank too much and didn’t wanna pay for an Uber late at night, and then out of respect he “snuck in” so he wouldn’t wake her up, out of respect? Idk, that clip was overwhelming. Edit: Someone in the comments brought to my attention that she *isnt* driving, but still, god, imagine being in the car with someone being that loud and over the top, flailing around. Yikes! Still feels like one hell of a distraction.

I'm so glad Charlotte talked about people who use their mental health and/or trauma from their past as a way to get attention or sympathy and what not but then they act like they cant be bothered to also lend an ear or show support for someone else that legitimately needs to talk with someone because they are finally ready to talk about their abuse or their struggles with mentally health or whatnot and then they are told that they are the ones who are constantly trying to monopolize the conversation and make it about themselves and are constantly fishing for attention or sympathy.. that happened to me once when i finally felt ready to share and open up a bit in group therapy and afterwards I got sent a screenshot of this conversation between half of the group from this one woman who started tye like conversation saying how she couldn't believe I was making group all about myself again and she said the same thing about another woman who was only there for her second week and spoke up for the first time.. some people are just so oblivious

I advocate for telling the woman or man they are being cheated on. Humans are delusional but eventually the pile of shitty information they get eventually helps them to leave. As long as there are no other underlying issues the only time premature means something is in the first 4 or 5 years of life as it can cause a delay in the child's development (usually physical development) after that, they start catching up and you would never know.

My ex was like this. He escalated to physical abuse and eventually I had to flee to another state because he was planning a murder/suicide that would have permanently removed him, me, and my 3 very young babies. He kept me in hysterics doing mental gymnastics for years and after I got good at avoiding his beatings he decided that wasnt working anymore and he had to do something more drastic to control me. 20 years on and I am still battling debilitating anxiety. I dont have any friends, i never leave my home. I have constant panic attacks and difficulty making friends. My current friend list fits on the fingers of one hand, and they are all on Discord. I didnt have the benefit of counseling and mental health support, so i wasnt even diagnosed until 15 years after I ran away from him. So now I have to live with the fallout of what he did to me and he has yet to face any consequences for breaking an entire human permanently. Even better, most of his family and our friend group from that town took his side. He was very good at winding me into hysterics by mentally torturing me, and then making sure other people only saw or heard me once he pushed me over the edge and I started yelling or crying or begging. He even managed to convince a cop to arrest me after he ambushed me in the dark and beat the crap out of me. I had my eyeball nearly hanging out, bruises all over my face and body, cigarette burns on my face and arms, and very obviously was not a physical match against him. He had one tiny scratch on his neck where i tried to fight him off me. He was a very convincing psycho. IN order to avoid going to jail I had to agree to leave my home and leave my children behind with him, and was told if they were ever called to our house again that I would be arrested for DV. It took me another 6 months after that to get my kids away from him, and he used my kids as a weapon against me every day. One incident he showed up to where I was staying and had my kids in the car screaming and crying and beating on the windows and he locked the doors and just parked there honking the hoorn for an hour. I begged him to let my kids out and tried to make deals with him to roll down the windows and let me comfort my kids. I couldnt hear what he was saying to them like that but seeing them ripped my heart out. I tried to call police but they never showed up. He wasnt technically breaking any laws and I was told to call back if he put hands on me. This sort of hell was repeated over and over and over until I was able to steal my kids back while he was at work. I did eventually get a call from CPS. They wanted to verify that I had the kids with me and wasnt planning to go back to him. I was so scared they wanted my kids. I still have serious trust problems.

That chick has a screw loose! My earliest memory is of my 4th birthday. The only thing I remember about it was that my dad tried teaching me how to hold up 4 fingers, but my family laughed because I didn't know what to do with my thumb, so I fussed at my own thumb for being in the way. An uncle suggested amputation as the solution and I disagreed vehemently! I dated a guy who was 15 years older than me about 30 years ago. We got on the subject of the Kennedy assassination and he asked me what I remembered about that day, after he told me he was in high school biology class when he heard the news. I answered, "I was two". He looked confused and said, "You were in biology class, too?" "NO! I... WAS... TWO!!!"😂

While this is true, it could depend if her body remembers the trauma, which it does. For example, I have a little brother who was the rainbow baby of our family after my mom lost a baby before him. He had complications at his birth and stayed there in the hospital for a while. He was probed, stuck with needles, etc. He's currently 7 and to this day, has a horrible fear of needles and doctors. My mother says will he mentally may not remember that time because he was a new born, his body does and he does NOT like needles or doctors. Whenever we take him to clinics for check ups, if he says a nurse holding a long plastic bag or a long thing in general like a swab, he immediately thinks it's a needle and starts screaming and crying. And it's the same thing with swabs, ever since he started getting more tests for strep because he would have it often, he now no longer likes the swabs and the moment he sees one, he immediately cries his heart out and reaches to my arms, begging me to take him home. As for doctors, he asks a big shy around them and doesn't talk as much, unless he feels like he's not getting a shot or swabs, he will talk more. I could be wrong, as everyone goes through things differently, but me and my mom genuinely believe my brother's hardcore fear of needles isn't like the common spook kids get and then they grow out of it. He honest to God would rather get sick then have a needle or a swab near him. He will even beg us to tell the doctors his throat doesn't hurt to prevent swab testing

You can *ask* him not to if if there’s a reason you want him home, but he’s allowed to answer no. A lot of people hang out or until 7 after being out drinking. It’s completely normal. That one story wasn’t sus, but I am concerned so many people don’t trust the people they date.

If someone wants trust issues... Once, I dated a guy who lived in another town. We were way too young, especially me so I couldn't go and visit him whenever I wanted (no driving licence, no car, no job or money). That's probably why he chose me. At some point he said that his ex had showed up with a baby, telling him it was his child. Later on he said that he had brain tumor. I mean, you could imagine how devasted I was at that point. One night after I got drunk at a party I decided to call him and a woman answered his phone. Apparently he was married and in a good health but he was simply preparing to leave me by faking his own death. 🤐🤐🤐

One word: sociopath. They do that. And yes, they are that crazy/weird, and do things like pretend to have cancer. One lady married a sociopath and her sociopath hubby told her he got a job in a new city. So she quit her job and they moved. Turns out there was no job, it was fake. They ended up having to live on savings/credit cards (in hotels) until they stayed with friends. She divorced him cause he crazy and later she also he also had a mistress and a baby. (Which she didn't even know about). Another sociopath lady worked at a clothing store (co worker is telling the story). The sociopath lady said she got a rich football bf and that's why she was getting all these nice clothes suddenly. Cause at work she would show up in very very high end clothes and luxury bags. Well, turns out she didn't have a bf and stole the money from work. She ended up getting caught, fired, and then arrested. (^Comments/stories I read on KZfaq)

I had a friend who always tried to one up traumatic situations that were real. It kind of made me feel as if my 16:33 things weren't worth anything. It devalues things that happen. If something bad happened like my dad dying, sister overdosing, mom having a stroke she lived with me didn't have a house, trauma all around in family lol (all true stories) she'd come over complaining about her wrist hurting or something. I always knew it was off because nothing was ever wrong with her. Like she had tests done for legs, nerves, periods, I don't know what kind of disorder makes people do that. I didn't even bring up my stuff to her directly or anything either. I sort of leave it up to my friends if their in a mental position to talk. ❤ I never want to hurt anyone. I see people who seriously do try and weaponize trauma. It's maddening for the rest of us. It does not represent those who have went through heavy trauma in childhood that want to heal. The are actually large amounts of guys who can go out literally for days and not cheat(My 4 brothers, my dad, brother in law, several friends husbands. BUT, there are guys who can "go out for pizza with the guys" for an hour and a half and be on a date. Know your guy. Actually become friends before you become lovers. Omg this reminded me of something, I was sitting in class and the teacher told us to work with the person next to us. I didn’t know this girl. But as we’re working (I’m doing most of the work because she’s talking) she just randomly is like, “Oh my gosh, I might have to call my mom.” And y’know, I was confused so I was like , “What’s wrong?” And this girl literally goes, “This project reminded me of how I was born 2 weeks early and I spent a while in the ICU. Because of that I had epilepsy when I was four.” I was so confused, like girlypop, you can’t recover from epilepsy. Yeah, there’s strategies to manage it but I don’t think you can’t recover from it. She was literally like, “It was just so awful to spend all that time in the hospital.” Girl, you were a baby. You cannot remember that. Also just for context: I was born three months early. I’ve had lung problems ever since and still struggle with asthma today. So when this girl starts complaining about how she was born two weeks early, I was so confused. I don’t tell people I was born three months early and only my friends and teachers know I have asthma. Also, I’m pretty sure this girl was lying because in our class she’s always using dead family members as an excuse for not doing her assignments. Ma’am that is 4 uncles, 3 aunts, 2 grandmas, and your mom. I don’t know if it actually happened like that, but considering I saw your mom pick you up from school it was probably a lie. So the exact next words that came out of my mouth were, “Oh, well I was born three months early. I spent over a month in ICU and my parents had to switch all the pastels in my room to shades of gray because my eyes weren’t developed. I still have asthma because of it and I almost had an asthma attack going up the stairs in our school. But I don’t remember what happened when I was born, so how do you?” And this girl just stared at me in shock. Then she started yelling at me, saying how I ‘stole her moment’ or something. It was literally so stupid. But because she was yelling at me the teacher came over and gave her detention. (Damn I wrote a lot. Sorry if this doesn’t make sense. Also, this girl still hates me, it’s been three years.)

To the story of the influencer remembering her birth, although memories can hypothetically be formed at infancy, it’s relatively impossible to retrieve (remember) your birth until language is developed. That’s why most people “boot-up” into consciousness and recall memories from 2-4years old, those are the years of learning how to talk. It’s virtually not possible to remember something before theres foundation of language, because you can’t contextualize what you’re experiencing.

I recall one event from before I was born. In other words, mother was pregnant with me, I wasn't born yet. Later on, in adulthood, I asked about certain things I "recalled" (watching the man who would be my father at his work); she was astonished and confirmed that yes, he had worked in such and such a place, but it was BEFORE I was born. I didn't "lead" my mother with my questions, just related my "vivid dream/memory" and was any of it based on fact? It was. So it's not impossible to recall things, it could be possible to be traumatized during birth events (cord around the neck can result in people hating ties or scarves or even turtle neck sweaters, and not know why, for example), but it certainly isn't commonplace to recall from when one was pre-verbal. And the fact that hypnotherapy can help people overcome issues, by going back into their past, indicates that at some level, all experiences are stored.

@@Kayenne54 Yeah and mediums help people grieve... doesn't mean they're actually speaking to our dead relatives. Especially early trauma shouldn't necessarily be taken literally, the brain gets creative sometimes. Doesn't mean the emotions aren't real, but it doesn't mean things happened exactly as we remember them either. I have memories that are in a 3rd person perspective, sometimes there were photos of the event that could have constructed them, sometimes no way there was ever a photo and I suspect I was dissociating as the memories are all stressful. But when you start talking about remembering things you weren't even present to see, you've lost me.

Also, when I pondered it as an adult, I realized my point of view was up near the ceiling, and then trailing behind him. I saw how he walked, and spoke, and acted; his current character was revealed. My mother left him not longer after my third birthday; and at no time did he include me in his work or take me there. He barely acknowledged my existence, actually; my older sister was the "Golden Child". Additionally, I had a meditation which morphed into a vision that involved him and myself in "other personas" or a different incarnation. It was relatively traumatic. Before his passing, I went and visited him especially to mention this "vision" and what had occurred in it. He was so disturbed he went from the room suddenly. After a little while, he came back and asked "How do you know all that?" because he had recalled it as well. When a couple minutes ago, I was the most beautiful thing and it’s been like that since I first came onto social media. And then I’ve always attracted much older men and compulsive liars still till this day, even when I was a child and they don’t see how wrong it is. I always say out of the 100% of guys I’ve spoken to only 2% of them have been genuine and nice. That’s what terrifies me is that most men don’t know how to be respectful and not lie. They tend to lash out if they don’t get what they want and you say no to them, they only hear yes. And I get that not all men are the same, and it’s not fair to say that but I hate hearing that saying because I don’t seem to see those guys that are different very often. I had to stop meeting guys years ago because every experience was horrible and it turned out that they were lying just to get me to meet them. I actually tried to give one person a chance last year as a friend too and he just confirmed exactly why I stopped in the first place. Because I’d actually love to have friends in general but it seems like having friends , especially guys are out of the question.🥺😭 💔❤️‍🩹Is this anybody else’s experiences too? Xx

@@leighannewilliams829 Whenever someone uses it, I just laugh. It's such a funny word, but so descriptive. My eldest daughter, when a toddler, would ask for "nice cream" (ice cream); and we were looking at jewellery in a jewellery store once (when she was older), she pointed at a diamond necklace and said "Oh look, ice". At one point, we'd drive home from grandma's after dark, and she'd point out the window and say "Matcha". Totally perplexed me until I realized she was looking at the television repeater towers, that had a red light for aerial safety on top; and was mixing up the words "match" and "tower". 😁😁

My dearest Mom had a horrible experience delivering me and as a joke, every time I was cranky she would say, “oh my poor baby, it must be because of your difficult birth”. Then she’d give me “the Mom look” to change my attitude. ❤😂. I cannot image using it as a line for sympathy from others! 🤣 That girl was the definition of a crazy drama queen. LOL

I couldn't complain about ANYTHING to my mom! She was born in 1920, her dad died in 1925, and her mom died of TB in 1932. Mom and 3 out of her dozen or so siblings were "lucky" and were sent to an orphanage at the height of the Great Depression. That's where she got her first pair of shoes, at age eleven. The girls at the home were taught to sew and not only made their own clothes, they had to make their own period pads and belts to hold them. All the used pads went into a large hamper in their communal restroom, and it was only taken to the laundry once a week. Of course the girls had to wash them themselves... by hand! I'm sure that smell would have gagged a maggot! At age 18, they were adults and had to leave the orphanage even if they had no place to go. Mom was lucky and met and married a handsome young Army Sergeant. Then he was sent to the front lines in Europe to fight nazis. He survived the war but came back with severe PTSD and traumatic brain injury that caused his death about a year after he returned home. Mom was 4 months pregnant with my second oldest sister, so suddenly she was a young pregnant widow with a toddler, no job, but had a car she didn't know how to drive. She taught herself to drive that old Plymouth and after my sister was born she landed a good job as an executive secretary. She bought a house for her and her girls in 1952, back when a single woman couldn't get credit. She figured it all out somehow. Yep, I didn't dare complain to her that my life was hard! She would just laugh

Some woman walks up to my husband and used the line "where have you been all my life?" My husband, didn't miss a beat and said "125 miles away!" It took him a couple of minutes before he realizes she was hitting on him! 😂😂 been married for 35 years now

Just in case some people don't know, the menus tend to have the weight of steaks PRE cooked. For the people asking about why don't they put the weight after cooking instead of pre cooked... it varies depending on how much water evaporates and how much fat renders out through the cooking process, so it will be lighter the more you cook it. Therefore, if you want it well done, it will be lighter than a medium-rare steak. It makes sense to put them on the menu at their most uniform state, pre-cooked.

Yeah, I went out on a few dates with a guy. And at one point, he told me his parents were divorced when he was a kid and I said "me too". I didn't think it was a big deal. A lot of people's parents are divorced. But he would keep mentioning it. We went out with friends if mine, and they told me he mentioned it to them. It was just weird. We were in our 30s. My dad had just died just recently and he knew that, but I got the feeling, he thought his parents divorcing was worse. We had talked about the divorces(my father cheated and was an alcoholic), he didn't know why his divorced, but it was embarrassing for him at school. It was just weird.

My roommate at the time and I invited some work friends over one night. Just 2 girls we both knew. 1 of them, we can call her Tori decides to invite her "partner" and her infant son over without asking us. We don't make a big deal out of it and just roll with it. They proceed to make the entire night about them and would essentially feed off each other and kept telling us traumatic things they'd been through. It was as if one would finish their story and the other would start a new story. After a few hours we found a way to end the night, we couldn't take it anymore. The 3 of us had been giving awkward knowing glances all night back and forth as if to say "WTF is going on right now?!" Once the family had left we all felt drained and traumatized ourselves, the other girl we invited coined the nights event as " emotional waterboarding." We completely agreed. I think I hung out with her about 3 times total and I had to end that friendship, it kept going like that. Just weird and uncomfortable memories with Tori....

I had something similar with a guy telling me he was living with a room mate. That they had been dating originally but were just friends. We started “dating “ and attended Uni together, everyone at uni were happy for us, his best friend was going out with one of my friends and when he found out we were together he went quiet… I eventually found out he was engaged to this woman!! And they were getting married at the beginning of the next year!! I wa Ali if and angry and felt awful . When everyone in our class found out they just were livid on my behalf. Imagine a class of nurses against you! I met my now husband a few months later and at our graduation ball he tried to slide up to me and hook up with my partner right there!!! Dude no! It still gives me the Ickes everytime I think about it. But I have the most amazing husband and we have been together 20 years this year!

I spent an hour on the phone the next day trying to convince his girlfriend that it was all that happened. Also, it was a 30 mile drive for him to get home and none of us were in any condition to drive. He should have called her though and let her know. Sometimes people get partying and time slips away.
