Believe me, after having grown up on hymns in a small Brethren Church in Belize, you have this intimate love and affection for God. We do without a lkt of life conveniences, that causes us to deoend on God to come through for us, and he does! Absolutely. Thsnk God almighty, the storm will pass by, keep the faith, hevis faithfuk that called you❤

In the dark of the midnight have I oft hid my face, While the storm howls above me, and there's no hiding place. 'Mid the crash of the thunder, Precious Lord, hear my cry, Keep me safe till the storm passes by. Refrain: Till the storm passes over, till the thunder sounds no more, Till the clouds roll forever from the sky; Hold me fast, let me stand in the hollow of Thy hand, Keep me safe till the storm passes by. Many times Satan whispered, "There is no need to try, For there's no end of sorrow, there's no hope by and by" But I know Thou art with me, and tomorrow I'll rise Where the storms never darken the skies. (Refrain) When the long night has ended and the storms come no more, Let me stand in Thy presence on the bright peaceful shore; In that land where the tempest, never comes, Lord, may I Dwell with Thee when the storm passes by. (Refrain)

Such a blessing to hear hymns being sung by a congregation. Missing element in so many churches today.

In our church we sing hymns every Sunday. Is fast becoming a lost art because of the contemporaries, which has its place, but hymns are the best. They are Christ centered. Right now I am doing the Bulletins and are uploading the hymns for tomorrow. God bless everyone who listens to this beautiful hymn

The pianos need to be louder then most because you have so many people singing. The musicians need to give guidance to the singers.

Which Hymnal do they use? There are so many awesome songs they sing!
@andrewwyffels10003 жыл бұрын
The Rejoice Hymnal, which is a great one! So is The Hymnal for Worship and Celebration, which is what my church uses. And I agree, I too have been very blessed by their many great recordings of their congregational singing! It would be great if more churches would share their congregational singing online like this, as it's become unfortunately common to abandon theologically rich, traditional hymns in favor of the new hip contemporary music. (To be fair, some people really enjoy the contemporary style and more power to them, I suppose, if they find that's a way that they can meaningfully worship, but I find that so many love the traditional style music!) They (Southwest) remind me a lot of my own church (also a mid-size IFB church) especially in the sense that they have a vibrant music ministry and you can tell that music is a central and joyful part of how they worship!
