Very sad Mike's passing but he lives on through his ukulele teaching and songs. Just hope they never take away his KZfaq videos. Such a pleasure to spend some music time with him, a wonderful person, one of the best. Loved by so many people around the world I'm sure.

The tribute is wonderful. I was actually looking to contact Mike online today to thank him finally for his lessons posted here. I just found out from his website out that he passed on in 2018. Even though I never met him, the news caused me to shed a tear. I pretty much learned how to play uke from Mike's KZfaq lessons - the very best. Later my oldest son took an interest at age four. He learned quick from Mike and today, aged 18 he's an accomplished musician with all sorts of instruments and often plays live gigs. He is aiming to start in music college in the Autumn. Now my youngest son who is eight and my daughter who is 13 are both Mike fans, having used his lessons to get started more recently. Three ukers in our family and taught by Mike. It wasn't only Mike's clear and simple way of teaching, but his obvious love for the instrument and for teaching (and the hats and shirts!) that make him the best. I say "make" because he's still here and still teaching.( He just taught me a particular finger picking style ten minutes ago. ) Mahalo to you Mike and long may you teach!

I just found this out, I'm so sad ... Mike taught me how to play my first uke. I was on tour and at night would rush to the hotel to play his videos and play the uke alongside him. How amazing is it that you can touch the life of people you never even met. Happy travels Mike!

I was in my late 70’s when I met Mike through his online tutorials. I had a uke that had sit on the shelf for way too many years. I can assure you that he gave me a new life and promising future. His tutorials were easy to follow and encouraging. Now in my 80’s, I still refer to his videos and thank him for opening the door when I thought I was on a dead end street. I’m just sure he is now playing a golden ukulele.

Thank you so much. I have only learnt today, 18th September, that mike is no longer with us. I'm devastated. When I started with the Ukulele, I had no idea how to play it. I quickly found Mine on You Tube and he effectively, taught me how to play, from the States to the UK.
