After proving himself in the second tier with Millwall, Tim Cahill made the step up to the Premier League with David Moyes’ Everton, where he made a flying start in a team that was dealing with the departure of Wayne Rooney to Manchester United.
Cahill slotted in seamlessly and played a pivotal role as Everton surpassed expectations to beat fierce rivals Liverpool to fourth place - which remains their highest ever Premier League finish - and make it into the Champions League play-offs.
He spent eight years at Goodison Park, where he produced the best football of his career under the watchful eye of Moyes, a manager Cahill says has been a huge inspiration for him during his journey into coaching since his playing career ended.
