Tim Hardaway (38pts/7asts/5stls/6threes) vs. Knicks (Game 7, 1997)

Tim Hardaway leads the Miami Heat to the conference finals with a performance for the ages. I reckon that nobody in today's NBA has the balls to attempt the sequence that starts at 4:30. '07 Kobe could be the last guy who could take and make those shots. Some of the threes he made for that 18-point third quarter are just unbelievable. That's how you make sure in game seven that your team is winning the series. May 18, 1997.

This dude being able to stop and go in another direction at blazing speed was unreal. Unfortunately that led to a lot of injuries also. One of the most athletic point guards to play. That speed was necessary in that era of basketball for guys like him and AI to compete at a small size.

This is classic Tim Hardaway, this guy was so tough. LamarMatic, i kinda disagree with your comment: "I reckon that nobody in today's NBA has the balls to attempt the sequence that starts at 4:30. '07 Kobe could be the last guy who could take and make those shots. Some of the threes he made for that 18-point third quarter are just unbelievable." Its just that i never saw Kobe doing something like that in the playoffs, on a game 7, againts the type of tough and rough defense this Knicks team played, let alone with the bad blood between this 2 squads. Againts non defensive teams, or in the regular season?, well yes, i have seen Kobe do it in those situations. But what Timmy did here with the stakes so high...thats just insane. Keep the awesome uploads coming Lamar, thanks!

Needless to say Tim Hardaway is probably my all time favourite PG and all time favourite player right AFTER Air Jordan.

What some ppl are overlooking about this series is, this is series where they had the brawl after PJ Brown flipped Charlie Ward. Several Knicks players were suspended for the last couple games which probably gave Miami an advantage. Not to take away from Hardaway's performance, but I think those suspensions put them in a good position to advance in this series..

Hardaway terrorized the Knicks in this game although they were the better team that year and would have eliminated Miami in 6 had it not been for the suspensions. This was really Hardaway's last year as an elite PG before injuries started to take their toll and he was never fully healthy in their next 3 playoff meetings in 1998-2000. Having sat through this game, I loved seeing Hardaway as a shell of his former self in those years.
