I have been watching many videos on the TH Stamping Platform, including the man himself, but none of them have given so much information or shown so well how to do so many techniques as yours. My platform is sitting next to me waiting to be used for the first time, and I am going to have a ball! Oh, and use stamps I had given up on because they were so fiddly (multi-layer). Thank you for such a professional video, and for the blackbird signing his heart out in the background.

Frances Watts thank you so much that is such a lovely comment. I tried really hard to show as much as I could in the two videos on this, so thank you for that. Did you see the two Altenew videos I made recently featuring the stamp platform and the repeat layer stamping. I thought they were nice as it shows an actual project. Thank you again and hope to see you over on my blog xx

Oh my pleasure lovely, this tool makes stamping so much easier. I tested some others but in my opinion this was head and shoulders better. Hope you enjoy yours and look forward to hearing from you more, sorry my web is offline right now (routine maintenance) but once it is back up do subscribe and you will get an email each time I post - and no other time. Also I do try to make sure I do a mix of styles and levels of crafting on here, but if there is ever anything you want covered or answered please ask, ideas and questions always welcomed :-)

Just purchased mine today. I have both mistis and I feel this one will be much better. Wished I'd have waited. I agree that the Misti is over priced for what you get. Some people are just money hungry. There are many versions of die cutting machines as well as electronic die cutting machines and I don't see them suing each other.

Marilyn Martin funny you said that as I had a comment on here (you might see it if you drop down or up lol) where the lady thought it was very wrong of Tim to make a stamper, he was greedy to do so and Misti had had to start from nothing etc. I am not good at short answers so you should find the comments ok - hers was attached as a reply to someone else though but interested that you are pretty much saying the opposite. Anyway glad yours has arrived and you will love it I am sure xx

Lolli Lulu Crafts you are welcome. Thank you for sharing with us your skills and talents. I have a question, where do you purchase your clear stamps from? I have been searching for layered stamps but I have not been able to find these. Any recommendations?
@lollilulucrafts
@lollilulucrafts 6 жыл бұрын
Mostly for layered stamps it would be altenew - they to me are the best at those (my opinion only of course lol) I love the way their stamps just come together and their inks work really well for it to as they are in sets of four so you have the shades you need in each colour family which is really cool. Check out this video of mine and it also has the links to altenew which in all honesty I would be grateful any time for you ladies and gents to use as they give me a little commission on any sale made which all helps me carry on with this video making lark lol! hugs xx www.lollilulucrafts.co.uk/2017/10/altenew-rose-card-easy-repeat-stamp-layering-using-tim-holtz-stamp-platform/

Thank you so much for this video showing us som many techniques! It was really fun to watch as you have a good way of explaining and a very nice British voice to listen to ( that is not unimportant in craft videos, I have had to stop looking at some stampers because of their screeching voices and would not dream of doing one myself since my voice on videos is horrid) After having seen your video I am glad I ordered the right tool. I saw the Misti over att Jennifer McGuires blog but I was horrified when I found out the cost. Then I found some videos on KZfaq on how to do your own stamp platform from an Ikea frame. Being Swedish I liked the thought and the cost was less than 8 quid! But I needed something for larger papers and Tims platform seems just the thing for that kind of stamping. I am really thankful they won that case vs Misti so that they can sell the platform. Now I am off to see what other videos you have done and to visit your blog! :-)
@lollilulucrafts

Thank you so much, what a lovely comment and I do try so hard to be clear in what I say because I can be a chatter box lol! I sometimes get told off for that lol! But on the whole I try to do both types ones where it is a bit more free and chatty and others where I am trying to get to the point. I have worked hard over the last couple of years trying to improve various elements of the videos in both technology and me so it is so nice that you have said the lovely things you have. That one comment alone makes it worth while **Blush** I agree with you about the Misti case - I am actually a lawyer so I have taken a bit of interest in it and made some effort to read the legal papers that are on public record and I even got a statement from Tonic - over on the Stamper review video of mine. And I am very happy they one and to be honest I have not been that impressed with the way that I understand (lawyer protecting herself here lol) she has behaved. it is only because TH and Tonic have the money that they have been able to fight this, many others have not and have been badly effected. Of course it didnt effect us over here in the UK so we got our stampers anyway, One viewer said it pretty good in my mind, something along the lines of it is like macdonalds suing burger king for making burgers too! I mean it is insane to me. Anyway thank you again ad I will look forward to seeing you on my blog - I always do lots of photos on there - each video has its own post you see so I always add lots more on there than I could on here xx
@avrilcrisp30
@avrilcrisp30 6 жыл бұрын
The only thing missing on Tonic's stamp press is the bottom grid which helps when placing your card in the exact same place when stamping partially off the side of your card. I have laminated a grid sheet and use this on the base as its easier to see.
@lollilulucrafts
@lollilulucrafts 6 жыл бұрын
what a good idea, although I personally haven't found it a problem as so far I have always jammed the card into the corner, but I am sure there will be occasions where in the future I will remember this tip x

I can't wait to get my hands on Tim's Stamp Platform! I hope Tonic wins the patent infringement suit My Sweet Petunia (the inventor of The Misti) has brought against it. Tim's design is very different in a number of aspects to that of the Misty, is better made, and offers much greater versatility, IMO. Both my fingers and toes are crossed.
@lollilulucrafts
@lollilulucrafts 7 жыл бұрын
My understanding is that they have come to an agreement but personally I think it is ridiculous, instead stopping competition Misti should just stand in the belief of their product and fight to be the best. It amuses me how many companies have bought out stamp platforms that are much more similar (tims as a fundamental difference in the lid system) but they have gone after him - I am a lawyer so I will be clear it is my opinion but it seems to me not to much of stretch to see that misti lot have followed the money! clearly compared to a lot of the other companies tim and tonic together have a lot of coin! But hay maybe i am just cynical eh!!
@mandyaltman8207
@mandyaltman8207 7 жыл бұрын
Lolli Lulu Crafts I want to say, the Creator of the Misti started from nothing! Tim holtz on the other hand has made millions, there was no need for him to come out with a platform potentially taking money he doesn't need from the original Creator. it was just pure greed on his part. ultimately it's a business and I get that however in my opinion it's morally wrong of Tim holtz and tonic.
@lollilulucrafts
@lollilulucrafts 7 жыл бұрын
Mandy Altman Im afraid business and morals do not always go hand in hand. That said I actually do not agree that the other companies are the ones being morally corrupt - because we must remember that there were a number of companies that bought out their version of this tool. The only reason we hear about Tim and Misti is because exactly what you said he has the money so he can afford to fight it in court. Others could not fight it and withdrew their product. I know at least one was a small business so that would have been financially damaging to them, and let's be honest Misti will not be short of money now I'm sure! As an aside I have got ahold of the legal papers that are public record. With the greatest of respect though your argument just does not stack up, to say because Misti makes this product that no one else can make their version is frankly insane. Imagine for e.g. Sizzix (this is hypothetical I don't know who invented it) was the first to invent a die cutting machine and then forever after no-else can ever make there own ones! No Spellbinders or cuttlebug etc I mean they are all die cutters doing essentially the same thing, the same as the stamp platforms are. These companies are competing for your business and stand behind their die cutters as being the best product. They don't try to shut the competition down with legal action hoping, as I would as a strategy if I was their lawyer, that these other companies would cave rather than fight in court and have to pay out huge legal bills. Just on the patent issue alone Tims stamper has a fundamental difference with the lid operating as it does. Also I would add that under American law competition is a fundamental right of business and no company can have a monopoly. I would refer you to the case of Microsoft where they did have a monopoly in particular product and was taken to court by the State Dept in United States v. Microsoft Corporation where the court confirmed (and on appeal too) that Microsoft had violated the anti-trust act by trying to put two products together that effectively created a monopoly. I hope that explains why I say what I am saying. I do try to base my opinions on careful consideration but of course like yours it is just an opinion and I do welcome all comments. The more diverse the better as it creates debate which is always good I feel. So thank you for your comment, happy stamping lol! Amanda

I have found a load of comment like your that are not showing a reply and yet I feel sure I answered this - if I didn't I apologise but anyway yes it is very good tool, can't compare with actual experience of the misti but looking at how it works I personally prefer the idea of the TH one and the reversible lid etc. Much neater than bits of foam in my opinion, plus I am not a fan of how misti have behaved taking tonic to court etc, poor show in my opinion and i think shows a lack of confidence that their product could beat the TH Tonic one in a straight out fight in the marketplace. but that is just my opinion xx

Thanks, great video. Did you know that you can color with Distress Markers on your stamps and it doesn’t even matter if it dries on there. You can come back there t day if you want and either spritz with water or huff on it before you stamp. The ink will reactivate with moisture.

Thank you so very much. I have recently begun stamping (within the last year or so) and have been looking at the various stamp platforms. I went to a stamp convention a little over a year ago and saw the Misti in use and was intrigued and considered purchasing it, but the cost stopped me. I looked at the others out there and although I like them have held off as being new did not think it was time. It is now time as I am becoming more proficient. I will NOT get the Misti as I feel she is wrong in so many ways. She is making it so cost prohibitive for a new, and low income, crafter to get started, as well, she has begun to have these made out of the USA and at a much less cost to be made and has not even passed that price reduction on to the consumer. UNFAIR. Tim Holtz and Tonic have produced a far better product at a far better cost to us the consumer and from what I have heard have won their case. This product is far, far superior from all that I have seen, and I can not wait for it to be available. Thank you for producing this tutorial, it has taught me so many new ways to use it, when I get it, that I did not know of. Big hugs.

My understanding is that it is now resolved, how it is resolved I don't know, and it may be there were some changes agreed that have to be made etc. The whole thing is ridiculous to me of all the ones released the TH one was the one that was fundamentally different to the misti with the removable lid etc. I mean look at the WRMK one that is much more similar and the hampton art one which I thought was a misti in a different colour! Actually I paused here and did a little reading it seems I did the lady at misti a disservice as apparently she has not exclusively been threatening to sue tonic but has in fact also done so with others and has in fact put hamptons in the positions where I understand they withdrew the product rather than fight. I imagine the reason we know about tonic is that they have the money and the nuts to fight it! lol! also within the stores too, Misti will no doubt be a big seller for places like micheals etc so if Misti say them or us well Micheals would go with stocking Misti of course it makes commercial sense. But now switch it up and Misti say the same about Tim and Tonic!? well i think Tim has a little more clout with all the stuff and customers he must put in the stores so it suddenly isn't so easy for Misti lady. Now a lot of people have been asking me about this - maybe cos as a lawyer they think i understand more, as well as the videos too so thinking might do some research on this and find out where things are at now etc I have already got a copy of the original court claim document which I have been reading. And I want to investigate if I can and find out more bout the other alleged claims of threats of legal action etc and see where we are at and then may do a video or post on what I find out. xx
@lollilulucrafts
@lollilulucrafts 7 жыл бұрын
BTW I would add that I can totally get why she would want to complain bout patent infringement on the others because they were so very similar as to be insane, but TH one seems to have some fundamental differences. I have contacted Tonic but I don't know if they will add anymore. I think what i am seeing from the court docs I can get to is the Tonic has made a motion to dismiss the claim and misti have til early july to put in their response to that. But that does not mean an agreement has not been reached between them. Anyway we will see xx

ohhh, thank you so much for this, and please please please keep me up to date. Again, as a brand new card maker, I am waiting with my breath held for the TH platform. In all honesty I do not have a misti nor have I tried one. However looking at the features of both, the issues that I understand there have been with Misti, it looks to me as if TH has tried to address these and create his own product but one that takes into account issues raised with the Misti. Check out some of the comments below from viewers with a misti and their view seems to be they are glad they have purchased TH as well. One lady (and it may also be comments on the original review video too) in particular gave an interesting point of being able to love both her 'children' lol! but she liked the fact the grid was part of the lid not printed on so it did not wear away on TH. Another liked the ability just to switch the lid to use different styles of stamp, But at the end of the day I am basing all of my opinion here on what I read of the Misti and what I have been told by viewers. That said I had never purchased a stamp platform til TH (and the w r memory keepers one too for reviews) and had looked a lot at the misti and did not like a number of important features, not least of which was that to me its price point was very high. Anyway I hope I haven't just confused you more, maybe you could order it from amazon and if you did not like it you could return it? have a great crafty weekend and do let me know what you decide xx

@lollilulucrafts
@lollilulucrafts 6 жыл бұрын
Umm that is odd as I definately dont need too. Dont forget that if it doesnt stamp completely the first time though you just re-ink. But tell me are you def (sorry if it is obvious but this is something `i did so ... ?) using the correct side of the 'lid' for the stamps. Ie the rubber side of the lid for the rubber stamps etc? Also are they good quality stamps? sometimes the lesser brands are slightly thinner so you do need to re-ink or press a bit harder - another option is to put a piece of thin foam under your paper? Also paper is that thin? as that could make a difference. Or if it is textured in any way such as watercolour card/. Sorry you have had issues as this was the one thing I looked for and have not had happen and I have used this a lot now. Come back to me and let me know re the above xx

I am new to platform stamping in fact I have been crafting for almost 36yrs without one. My question is do you really need to press it that hard? or is that just how you prefer to do it? Many thanks. :)
@lollilulucrafts
@lollilulucrafts 4 жыл бұрын
no you dont - I was new to it to at that time and just assumed but have since learnt that it simply isn't necessary. In fact you just give light press and if its not enough you can of course go back and re stamp. Most of the time I find it works fine. Sometimes if I have a large detail stamp i find it is better to move it out a little into the centre of the platform where there is a little more give so the centre of your large stamp then will stamp because as you press down the platform lid has that extra movement with minimal effort so it manages then to push down better in the centre. But that I so rarely have to do, if not only once on a really big detailed floral stamp. But if you look at say some of my more recent videos of stamping - I use it on most of my stamping videos, you will see I have changed how I press. Actually I have a stamping video going up tonight and that should show exactly what I mean and just how light I now press, Do check it out to get a better view of the platform. I personally dont know how I lived without mine and I got a few to try for the channel although I only showed two. But for me this one was head and shoulders above the rest. Just love the little extras that make it easy, like turning the lid around rather than having to have another something to adjust the depth for the different stamp types. Anyway sorry for the long answer but hope it helps. And do check out tonights video I think it will really show you exactly what you want to see, hugs Amanda xx

@@lollilulucrafts Thank youuuuuu so much, for clearing that up and for taking your time to explain. I regretted asking in the end as it did sound like I was being rude (but it wasn't my intention, as I tried to explain I have never used one). I will go and look for your video now. I am sorry if I offended you. I bought the Tim Holtz as it gave the option of rubber and clear plus I could fit my 12 x 12 papers on it without a fight. I also love how easy you showed us it cleans so no dirty transfering. I got fed up of having the shadowing.. I am one of those people that unless an image is totally crisp then it goes in the bin. @@pammipayne3334 oh no sorry I wasnt offended at all, I am just so behind on comments - I dont know how long you have followed me but I have a cute dog who is somewhat known by the subbies on here, but she took real sick couple weeks back, they thought they would have to put her to sleep, so i was just rushing as I felt bad for not answering comments - well actually that was probably the best bit I hadnt done! I also missed two video posts! but I didnt recognise your name so thought you would not know all this maybe and then think me rude for not replying. I make it a point to answer all comments. So anyway as I say def catch tonights video - just putting the finishing touches to the post now, and also make sure you hop over to my website as it has a tonne of stamping videos (if you dont want the whole post I have them in a video library too) check altenew section as that has a lot of stamping obviously and that again will show maybe some different types of stamping. I am like you, esp with sentiments and when you stamp a sentiment and you have to push it down to get it to stamp but then it goes all squishy it drives me mad, so this is where this has been a god send, that alone made it worth it for me. as I literally let it touch the paper light press, leave it a sec just to let the ink absorb a little, then if necessary for depth of colour I can re-stamp. Anyway it has been lovely to chat with you and please you were perfectly lovely and polite and i was not upset at all, didnt even cross mind, i took you absolutely literally and actually think it brings up a good point that I ought to raise in maybe an update video on the platform - so thanks for the idea lol! hugs and hope to see you again Amanda xx
