Everybody loves characters like Deadpool, the Merc with a Mouth, but as soon as the real deal gets up and starts talkin' smack (all fact by the way) for our amusement, education or just adding some levity, everybody starts complaining and judging.

I mean c'mon! That response to the Romero comment was straight out of a Deadpool comic! @@sigxm5thumb it's an interesting conversation bc we tell 18 year olds they can't drink alcohol, even if you're in the military. Weird goal posts all over the place. I might not agree with his remarks on gun control but they do have merit. 18 y/os do a lot of dumb shit. Look at driving stats and corresponding insurance rates. Those are reflections of real life material and human collateral. If we tie everything in America to guns, blindly, then we're never going to get better.

I've always been some combination of terrified and mystified by violence. But as i get older and more especially as I've ventured into fatherhood I've really come to realize and appreciate the necessity of violence. And as ive delved deeper and deeper into combat sports, shooting, tactics, knife fighting, war philosophy. Ive really come thi respect men who are able to do this at the highest levels successfully and still maintain a healthy psychological outlook.

The main reason guys like Tim can keep a decent mindset is because he knows he’s on the side of good and he’s fighting true evil. Nothing more evil than a father using his own child as a shield so he can get close enough to you to blow you up. I could never kill in cold blood, but I could definitely take a life if it meant an innocent person could live or if they are trying to hurt me and my family. I just don’t understand people that can have no issue with killing in cold blood like gang members do. I leave my house daily prepared for a battle, I keep a gun, pepper spray and a knife on me at all times. I’ve had to use My taser but luckily never my gun. There’s true evil in this world and the worst thing would be to be left at an insane persons mercy, it’s a very helpless feeling and you can’t expect them to have any mercy. Most don’t. Stay alert and stay armed.

I am an American teaching English in Japan. When I lived back in the States, I always had a knife on me....not really for self defense, though that thought crossed my mind. I just used it all the time. Go to a restaurant and lend it to someone to open a box etc. Here in Japan you are not even allowed to carry a pocket knife on you. Completely ridiculous. After they come for the guns they will come for your knives. After the knives they will start registering people with any martial arts backgrounds. Long live the Constitution and the United States.

Totally respect Tim Kennedy, his service and his dedication to his craft and agree that knives are powerful and can be extremely scary and dangerous in combat scenarios... however, he still is a brand ambassador for 5.11 and clearly is trying to sell knives here... I carry a knife daily but this is an expo where they are demo-ing knives that are to be purchased... Expensive ones at that. He also stated that he either shoots or runs. So who is planning to stab someone with a knife here?? Most people can buy a relatively cheap knife and not need a 150 dollar fixed blade on their belt :) ... Stay sharp people! (pun intended)
