As an Active Duty Soldier I have seen him perform shows twice. Many people don't know, but he performs dozens of FREE concerts for Soldiers. He performed this song at the concert in Fort Sam Houston, TX and there wasn't a dry eye in the house. Soldiers giving him name tags and dog tags to say thankyou for remembering us. Very moving. This hit me back when he first released it. Fighting is never done after your time in service. Help other veterans out. Don't punish the veterans they had way more pain and suffering than any could ever know. 💔. Giving up everything to be a robot and no life. Only to be crushed and become a man. I was at Tim & Faith’s 1st Soul 2 Soul concert many years ago in Orange County, CA. I was lucky enough to have 2nd row seats. When he performed this song, I turned to see an older couple, maybe in their 70’s, embracing each other sobbing. I felt that Tim sang this song for them and perhaps because they lost their son in Afghanistan😢

This song is so beautiful. I get goosebumps and teary eyed when I listen to it. You can just imagine the wife of a fallen soldier recieving this letter and reading it. It is so beautifully written. There will never be a song as great as this one. I know I sound like I'm ranting about how great this song is, but coming from someone who has known music all their life, this song surpasses greatness. I would hate to see anyone be anti-war on this video. That would be heartless.
