rckt but sadly the only white people that seem to like him are the hip hop heads that value his place in the culture. After seeing Fab 5 Freddy interviewing London Posse in the middle of Brixton seeming shocked there were black folk in England I realised why the US rappers were more accepting of him. I’m glad he’s still going. Timmy is a legend and I’m still pissed off at my mum for not taking one for me at the Wu Tang concert and he was eyeing her up.

Westwood was a legend the people he had on the radio 1 rap show, if you wanted to hear hip hop in the UK in the late 90s you only needed Westwood he was playing shit no one had ever heard before. They replaced him at radio 1 because they thought he was getting a bit old and if they got a fresh face it would pull in a younger crowd, but young or old if you was down you was listening to the big dawg Westwood, bang your doors.......

rckt I always thought those special presses he would get such as KRS one singing “it’s Timmy!” Were something special. And his carnival shows and compering the few big hip hop shows we had in the 90’s. Always cutting the tunes to bring in the best bits. When I was 15 I called up Capital and asked to talk to him and they actually put me through. I was gushing telling him I want to grow up and be the female version of him. Except I was going to be able to mix as well! He was very encouraging and spurred me to carry on. Got my own pirate radio show for a while plus a load of other club nights. Good times before I had to start making money for rent and get a ‘real job!’
