I think a huge reason why Tim is so relatable and funny It's because he hasn't been doing stand-up since he was 16 years old or in the industry since he could legally vote. He worked a s*** job and did drugs for years until he up and decided to do comedy so has a lot of life experiences and stories that don't compare to people like John mulaney who have been handed millions and millions from their parents to go be a "little comedian".

This is my favorite podcast of his. First time I listened to this episode I was on shrooms taking a shower. I couldn't stop laughing I was soo impressed. After that I was hooked

I lived across the street from Blogojevich, he happened to live in a prison but across the street none the less.

I didn't know a ton of criminals, growing up. But my dad was a cab driver who lived in a house with 4 different cabbies. One sold coke/guns from the basement; one panhandled and could occasionally be found trying to get hit by speeding cars (He sucked at both); A drunk blackbelt with "lightning reflexes"; and an Eeyore-like Native man who quietly drank and loved watching Trailer Park Boys with us. Vomit stains on carpets, fist holes in drywall, bathroom leaked onto the kitchen fridge, a total fucking sideshow act replete with nothing but degenerate alcoholics. Most of them are likely dead by now. And my pre-pubescent ass lovingly called it a home, and all those men friends. Boring people hear stories from that house, and feel pity. I just feel pride. To me, the scariest people on earth are well-groomed and naive. That place forever made me a safe harbor for people overrun by their shadows. A quality that, as I get older, seems way too rare in others. It's why I love people like Stanhope, and Dillon. They're true clownfish; safest among the anemones.

Tim has quickly and easily become my favorite comedian. I can already tell I'll be a fan for years. Can't wait for you to come back to Hollywood so I can see ya.

Throw in some Chris Farley, the intelligence/understanding of the world like George Carlin, a little David Spade commentary, the wild/engaging storytelling of Joey Diaz, the insults/cynical views and sarcasm of Bill Burr, the animated voices/performances of Jack Black, the pursuit of truth/great journalism and intelligence of George Hicks, the craziness/hate of the world and love of conspiracy theories of Alex Jones, and add the fact that he can basically riff off of anything on the spot for a long time like Robin Williams and “tries” to impersonate people like him haha. Now add in this wonderful concoction a lot of childhood and adult trauma, years of drug abuse and poverty, some nihilism, hard work, all mixed with Long Islander and L.A. characteristics, a lot of plain colored polo shirts, a love of luxury especially Airbnbs and food, and you have the most wonderful soup that is Tim Dillon.

Tim Dillon has a zen mastery to him. The inherent nihilism of meaningless of existence isn't to be denied for zen flavored platitudes but looked at starkly. What he calls materialism is simply the investment of the your focus on an equally valid, yet fruitless, pursuits our lives can take. Enlightenment isn't hard its easy.
