“I’ve got this little tradition-I always grab a courtesy motorcycle. It’s my chance to break free from sitting in showroom twiddling my thumbs and allows me to spend the day riding around, trying out something new. Beats sitting indoors any day!”
Three years of rain, sun and wind-whipped adventures, 30,000 miles etched into rubber. The BMW R1250GS Adventure-part machine, part confidante. Those five tyre swaps? Three different types of tyres, each a dance with destiny-rain-soaked roads, sun-kissed curves. Two sets of brake pads that never fail to stop the motorcycle as I chased sunsets down mountain slopes.
But the real magic? That tanker of petrol-liquid freedom. Litres of “why not?” and “what’s around that bend?” It fuelled my escape from the mundane.
I was given the choice of three BMW Motorcycles as a courtesy bike for the day F900GS a smaller version of my current motorcycle, XR1000 Wolf in sheep's clothing and the R12 Cruiser. Find out what I chose and what my thoughts on it were.
