The inspirations for it at the time were girl rock band "Brandy" featuring Jill Saward (later of Shakatak)
Richard Lambert, former manager of a band I was in.
And "High Flying Clive", a Brighton band. I nicked the line "if you wanna get through, it's all down to you" off them.
