Time lapse of Harvey hitting Houston. This camera is in the SE corner of downtown and is looking SW.
One pic taken every 5 seconds with a GoPro Hero 4 Black. Replayed at 60fps. Started recording 3:45pm Saturday and ran until 6:30am Sunday morning.

I live near Ft. Worth. It's quite disappointing that most of the gas stations have closed. I either see no line or a huge line at gas stations now.

Slav Strong it wasn’t storm surge that caused the flooding in Houston. It literally rained so much that it put most of the city under water. What made the storm so bad is that once it reached Houston it just hovered over us.

I was in walmart the very first day it was to begin raining...one guy walks in saying "all that hype n bs over a few sprinkles..."...them few sprinkles ended up being 50+ inches...bet he wasn't so sarcastic after it all...

The problem with Harvey wasn't how strong it was. It was that the storm was moving extremely slow which led to all the rainwater to be concentrated in one area.

Parra Painting wasn't it a 3? I don't remember, but it definitely wasn't the strongest but it stayed over Texas for so long that it became very flooded.

IrrationalNumbers Nope just flooding rain for 4 days straight dropping over 50 inches of water which in the end dropped around 300 trillion gallons of water over southeast Texas. We didn'g see any hurricane conditions as far as wind and storm surge because the eye/center of the hurricane didn't go over us that part of the storm hit lower south Texas, but we got hit by the right side of the storm which is the worst part of any tropical system because that's the side where all the moisture and the stronger winds are located so all that moisture got dumped over us.

That is what I was doing. Was crazy out there. I actually have a video of a live animal rescue on my channel of Two big German Shepards. Dealing with currents and live powerlines in water etc. It was definitely a crazy time.

There are 3 stray cats where i live and it snowed for 2 weeks where i live in 10° weather. They love thought the 90°+ summers and lived through 2 hurricanes. Animals can take care of themselves

Any one that lives in areas Harvey hit in Houston Know that Harvey didn't arrive on Saturday to Houston. Those are weak cat 1/tropical storm outer bands. The real crap started the next morning.

Melinda Mcguire it would flood anywhere if an area got 54 inches of rain in less than 36 hours. Around 12 Trillion gallons of water fell on Houston. There would be flooding in any major city that got that amount of rain in that amount of time.

cats400 and actually technically Washington and Oregon would not flood like that, when has that ever happened, it rains nonstop in Oregon and Washington that state is built for possible flooding! It wouldn't become like what Harvey did in Texas if it was in Oregon and Washington they are well prepared for flooding and rain a lot better than Texas- housing and everything is built upon what weather the state usually gets. Texas isent known for that much rain usually hurricanes so whereas Oregon and Washington could easily not flood from that.
