Time-Lapse SETUP - Calico Critters Red Roof Country Home (w/ Sylvanian Families Lavender Rabbits!)

Welcome Back!! This is a sped-up timelapse video setting up the Sylvanian Families / Calico Critters classic Red Roof Country Home!
This was a ton of fun to do, and I think it turned out really well. My favorite room is the terrace - I'd love to relax on it with an Arnold Palmer and a good book!
I chose the Lavender Rabbits for this video because they are probably my most favorite (or most cherished) family, and I wanted to show them off. I'm in love with their little lavender ears and gorgeous coordinated lavender outfits.

In 2011, I was 10-years-old and dreaming of buying this Sylvanian house. Now, turning 22 and earning adult money, I finally bought one! A fulfilled dream! Thank you for this video so that I have an idea how to decorate mine 😍

I love that!! I can relate; when I was maybe 6 or 7, my older sister had the original Tomy red roof house (that would have been in 1989/1990!) and I'd play with it for endless hours. I wanted my own, but my parents didn't see the point of buying a second one. Then many years later I bought this house for my own kids to play with, and ended up falling in love with Sylvanians all over again!! I hope you enjoy setting up your house, and be careful, these toys have a way of multiplying!!!

omg im obsessed with the lavender bun buns! i got the red roof country home for my daughter for her 2nd birthday and unfortunately her dad is trying to alienate me from her, so she still hasnt gotten to open the house or the goat family my dad got for her. one way ive seen people cope with grief is through miniatures and dolls. ive always been a kid at heart and a closet doll lover since i got into jr high (kids are pretty mean you know) so even though its under crappy circumstances i finally have a reason to play with the dream doll house i never got as a kid.

I'm so sorry, I really hope you're able to give her the house and critters. Our kids are like limbs on our bodies, I can't think of anything worse than being separated, praying for your family!! I think my daughter was also 2 when I got her this house, for Christmas, and that's what really kick-started my collecting. It's still hers, and my son has some, but they are a lot less enthusiastic about them than me LOL! And yes, there's something about miniatures, an escape into an idillic, controllable world, when the real world is uncontrollable and anything but ideal. I've been spending a LOT more time in critterland these past few months. It has helped. ❤

That’s awesome! It would look so good with curtains, I would like to make some at some point, as well as add some painting detail. It’s beautiful as is, but I’ve also seen some stunning ones people have painted and wallpapered!

Oh my, you managed to fit a lot of accessories in there! Also, I love that little curved catwalk on the second story. Mine is a different version and it has a triangle piece, but I like the curve better.

The curved balcony connector is from the grand department store! I’ve dogged on the whole “connect ability” focus but it’s actually pretty handy sometimes LOL! 😆

It's a fairly new one, but it wouldn't surprise me, or you might be able to pick up a used/incomplete dept store cheap just for that part, that might end up being cheaper than just getting the balcony, depending on where it's shipped from. @@AdventuresinCritterland found it! 🙌 An ebay seller had the sign and top railing listed (they bought what was supposed to be new, but arrived broken). It wasn’t the balcony, but I mentioned what I was looking for and a week later they messaged me that they had found it and did I still want it. 😄👌

Hi Celine, thanks for watching!! The old/vintage items I mostly got from eBay. I'm in the USA, but I've used eBay to purchase used Sylvanians from the UK, Japan, as well as from the USA. My favorite seller on eBay is "kobeejapan," and another great one is "debaragon." Good luck!!

Thank you! The green fabric is basic craft felt, I got one roll from Amazon and another from Joann fabrics, luckily they were the same color!

Yes! When I get home I'll measure it, I don't know offhand, I'll also let you know the table measurements. I do know the fabric (which I THINK is 2 ft wide) doesn't fit across the entire table width, it's about 6" too short.

When did lavender rabbits come out? I can only get them on eBay for a premium. Not wanting to pay so much just yet.

Oh boy, this is a very very late reply, and I’m sure you found the answer by now. But in case not, or for others, the Lavender rabbits came out in 2009 I believe, an exclusive from a store in Japan in a region known for its lavender fields 🪻🐰. Unless they are rereleased, your best bet is probably eBay unfortunately, although KobeeJapan Museum Store website will sometimes list them at a better price than eBay.

They are the Lil Woodzeez Sidewalk Set- unfortunately I think they are retired, but they can be found on eBay and Walmart I think. They come with about 2.5-3 feet of path plus two of those plastic trees you may have seen in the video. Good luck! 👍❤️

I barely can LOL!! But this is my "thing," we don't do lavish vacations, I don't buy expensive clothes or jewelry or even eat out much, this is my big "splurge." I also shop smart, always looking for good deals, I did a video on that. But yeah, it's costly.
