To all the ppl getting confused in the first ques …both the methods are correct and the answer would’ve been correct if the ultimate question asked was what is the actual distance (which is 20 km since while solving we divided speed x time by 2) ; but the question asked was the total distance covered and since the distance was covered twice so we don’t need to divide the distance ( distance = speed x time ) by 2 and the answer would be 40 km

in the first question while solving through lcm the distance covered for 29 hours is 200 and not 100, because 100 is covered at 25km/h and remaining 100 is covered at 4km/h. which gives answer as 40 as total distance covered. what sir has calculated is the distance for one way only in both the cases

yes right, whenever we apply LCM formula, 2 different speeds are given for a particular distance. We never add those. Here we have to add since we are finding out the distance of total journey!

in the first question the ans will be 40 we can get the total distance by multiplying the average speed and the TOTAL TIME and we will get 40 as the answer

The issue in the first and the second sum the second sum was done perfectly when sir divided the distance into 2 halves and that is why the time is also changes as 168/21 would give 8 hrs but sir did 84/21 thats why 4 hrs and so the distance came to 336kmat the last, if in the first sum the distance had been divided into 2 halves then time at 25km hr would be 50/2 i/e 2 hrs and at 4km hr would be 50/4 i.e 12.5 hrs total 14.5 hrs will be 100 so 29/5 hrs will be (100/14.5)*(29/5) which will give 40 km i.e the total distance.

In 1st question LCM method 29hrs -> 200 Km (sir kinda missed it and wrote 100Km) as we assumed 100Km of one side. So when we are taking 29hr (T_scooter+T_walk) we need to take both the distance i.e 200. and following rest will give us One side distance as 20km. Same that we got from 2nd method.

In the first question the method is correct , the answer is also correct just the last step Sir forgot...total distance = 20km+ 20km= 40 km(ans)

In the previous video while applying this concept you took the difference between the hours and compared it with L.C.M but in this video you added hours and then compared to L.C.M!. I didn't got this..

In previous video there were 2 persons travelling the same dist so after lcm we are taking diffrence. Here a single person travelling a dist in two diffrent mode of transport in two diffrent speeds so we are adding the two variables after lcm. Pls correct me if i am wrong

Actual ans is 40 kmts bcs if Ans is 20 then 10km waking and 10 km scooter So total time will be 10/4 +10/25 = 2.9 hr or 2hr 54 min which is wrong BCz in question total time is 5hr 48min Now take 40km as a distance so by previous method 20/4 +20/25 = 5.8 hr or 5hr 48min which is given in question SO CORRECT ANS WILL BE 40 KM.

Like for example in the second question we can take 21/45 * 15( hours) so 7 hours and 8 hours is the time taken and there 168km each and total distance 336km

The ans for the first ques would be 40km. There was slight error while using LCM method , and the question he gave asked for total dist. not of one side. ( 100km ko 50km + 50 km assume karlo then solve just as he did in the next problem). Cheers!

In last ques time intervals are equal so sir has considered them in ap which is correct obvio , but can we consider them to be in HP ?? Then B = under root AB.... and we will get a different ans

Sir ka answer correct hai (20km) .Isko hm straight line motion consider kr sakte hai .half distance covered by 25 km/hr and half 4 km/hr and total time taken =5 hour 48 min .

Can anyone tell why we are using lcm in this type of questions? I mean I have got the trick but my question is why? Why we are using lcm to get the initial distance? That I didn't get

you could assume any number as the distance, but considering as LCM makes calculation easy for time, as this ensures we get time as integers and not fractions
