Thanks for the kind words about The Hadal Project. Kevin and I designed it way back when just Asylum and Marcy Case had been released. Space Cowboys did a great job modifying it for the Revolution series. The special aspect you mentioned was one of the key things that inspired and drove our design. It just seemed like the perfect application for a time travel game. I've played all the scenarios except Madame and a Midsummer's Night. My favorites are the ones with interesting puzzles: Asylum, Under the Mask, Lumen Fidei My least favorite was Marcy Case: too much combat and you can completely bypass the puzzle

Thanks Jamey :-) We fell in love with Time Stories when it was first released and immediately started working on what is now the Hadal Project. So glad Space Cowboys published it and glad you love it so much. We love immersive story based elements in games like Lord of the Rings: Journeys in Middle Earth and feel that the Time Stories helps the people around the table to jump right in and enjoy the adventure. Marcy Case is my group's favourites scenario, I think mostly because on our playthrough the game made us feel so clever as we solved the big final puzzle, so it stuck in the mind for us long after playing, for that reason - I'd forgotten it being combat heavy. Expedition Endurance is number 2, simply for the twist with time travel near the beginning that felt so clever and well done and I still think about it... So like you I think we rank TIME Stories based a lot on memorableness and that excitement of new twists/ memories is what keeps us coming back!

The Marcy Case was the one I enjoyed the most.

Thanks for this. And wow, only 90 min to 3 hours gametime... amazing! But our group also kind of forfeit the aspect of trying to solve it (only) quickest possible, by adding trying practically all things out as well. Which typically means 3-5 run throughs, and 5-7 hours game time. Great fun and value for money!😁 Played them all so far (only a midsummer night pending due to Covid), and loving them all, though in different ways. If forced to choose, I would pick Estralla Drive as my #1. The others are much more fun and innocent. But Estrella challenges you in more ways than mechanics. And sits with you for some time after finishing (did me anyway)...

good video with no real spoilers...time stories is great! Interested to see how the revolution or blue cycle is different. Prophecy of Dragons and Lumen Fidei are my favorite so far. Still need to finish the last three of the white cycle.

I just bought time stories. (Haven't received it yet of course) I wanted this for quite a long time but either was expensive or was out of stock. I found it in a very good price of 30 euros (usually 50+ in greece) and while I was in the fence about it, I thought that if I am ever going to buy it it might as well be now. I was on the fence because I prefer my collection small and playable rather than big with shelves of shame 😂. And thus I do a lot of research before I buy a game, mostly. Playthroughs and reviews, but with that I can't see a Playthrough without spoiling it. The way you spoke about it just makes me want to play it now...

Great video Mr. Stegmaier! I would play these if I found a copy or knew someone who had them, but the "once you've played them, you're done" aspect has kept me from buying them. I didn't buy any legacy games until Charterstone for that reason, and I'm looking into getting Clank! Acquisitions Incorporated because I understand you can replay that one as well.

My issue is that the barrier to entry is a bit too high for 1-playthrough games, they could have made them smaller and with flimsier cardboard closer to the size of the deck and brought the price down a bit. You certainly know better but that's my impression, it feels a bit premium when it doesn't have to be.

We have played the first four, with a fifth we’ve purchased but haven’t gotten to the table yet. One quick clarification, you mentioned one of the scenarios has nudity, but so far we have found all four of the first scenario have at least one card with female upper nudity. It may be that a group may not come across the card and therefore not see it, but it’s worth being aware of. We have liked the scenarios we’ve played but the Marcy Case was our least favorite as well, and the Prophecy of Dragons was easily #1. Thanks for the recommendations and we’ll check out the Brotherhood of the Coast expansion.

Have you also played with the Time Stories: Revolution Experience? If so does it add to immersion between or during the new scenarios versions?

My favorite so far is expedition: endurance but we had a great moment in prophecy of dragons where on our last run we managed to forage enough of a specific herb that we got more money than needed to literally buy everything. 😂

Brotherhood of the coast was just amazing. I with they expanded on the whole ship upgrading and ship/pirate theme even more. Maybe you could have roamed the sea for abit more upgrading your ship even more. Small little side quests, or pirate battles. sooo Cool

There is one more smaller one: T.I.M.E Stories: Santo Tomás de Aquino. Did you play this as well? I actually have the game and some of the scenarios still in shrink wrap, waiting to be played...but Tapestry doesn’t let me do this 🤣 haha. I should tho, for Christmas!

Do you recommend a specific order to play scenarios to make it easiest to introduce ro a new group?

I’m with you, Jamey. I love all of them in different ways for various reasons, but my ranking is not that similar to yours. That speaks to how good and variable the series is because each scenario can have such a distinct appeal. Additional caveat: I haven’t played either Revolution yet (thanks, pandemic), but I also have three additional groups that I “GM” for my friends so they can also experience the wonder and excitement and I can manage the more rule-y aspects of the game so they can deeper immerse. (We also do playlists, theme food, and cosplays for each scenario to really help with the event-ness of it all.) 1. Brotherhood of the Coast 2. Lumen Fidei 3. Madame 4. Estrella Drive 5. Asylum 6. You are missing 2 demos (?) Santo Tomás (prologue to brotherhood of the coast) and Damien, and I thought there were another 2 Revolution games. There's also a bunch of fan-made ones, one of which became the hadal project. My family refuses to do more than 1 playthrough so we have to cheat so we do it in one run.

I didn’t realize that these games were only 3 hours of play. Seems like not much the 50$ they cost.
