The “get low” part is Su getting everyone to sit to watch Momometal’s Kabuki Theater reenactment. Momo was showcased heavily, as this was Babymetal’s newest single, and 1st song done with Momo as an official 3rd member. On the collaboration: On the new single and collaboration, Morello comments: "I am a big fan of BABYMETAL, a band that is both power rocking and constantly surprising with dizzying musical twists and turns. We got another banger for Japanese festival or any festival around, they performed this at the recent World Tour 2023 and getting the crowd going bonkers with this. The live debut was at Apocrypha - Another One exclusive show prior to the track release, it was fun and totally unexpected, everyone was having a blast and even started with a Kami Band solo after a while without it. There's a live proshot version at Summer Sonic Festival in Osaka released in the official summer sonic. You'll notice some slight difference between the live and the studio album. The song title is Metali!! (metal + matsuri, which is a Japanese festival) and you can hear it in the spoken section when MomoMetal is doing the Kabuki moves style. Just so you know "wasshoi" is another shout used in Japanese festivals when men are carrying the shrine, similar to sore and soya in Megitsune and Karate. The traditional Japanese instrument you can hear in the beginning is a shamizen, also used in Megitsune. I can totally see why they pick Tom Morello on this, the groove, the catchiness, the super energetic jump and those typical 90's vibes at funk or alternative metal live concerts. Wasshoi!“ Great reaction - welcome back. 🦊🤘 The song title translates as 'Metali' (or 'Metari') - it wouldn't show up in translations because it is a made up word, it is a fusion of the words metal and matsuri (festival). The song is about a Metal Village holding a metal festival, so they have included all the matsuri shouts everybody would be calling out as encouragement to the people carrying heavy floats etc like "Sore, Sore", "Dokoisho" and "Wasshoi!". They are inviting us all to dance - I am reliably informed there is something in the lyrics (Su sings it and it is in Momometal's kabuki theatre section) about we are all idiots or fools - the idiots who watch and the idiots who dance ... so as we're all here and we're all idiots why just watch, we may as well all dance. That "Are you ready!" was Momometal, she was revealed as the new third member last April, this was their first song with her on it and she even got her own featured spot. Yes that was Tom Morello on the big screen in the white hat (that is from the official video). He wasn't there (he didn't appear anywhere in the US tour and they played something like 29 dates, the chances of him flying all the way to Japan to play one song had to be zero), they used the official video footage so yes that was him on the big screen behind them. GAnimal already posted what Tom Morello said about wanting to work with BABYMETAL for a long time and what he said this collaboration. You got it right, Kami means god or spirit, so the Kami Band are the gods of guitar, bass and drums. In this one it was the Kami Band of the West - Chris Kelly, CJ Masciantonio, Clint Tustin and Anthony Barone. The treadmill thing is a youtube comments myth, that was never said by Su or anybody else. It probably came about when somebody asked how they could sing and dance at the same time, somebody else said about another singer who used the treadmill, somebody else thought they meant Su ... and then it just spread.

Welcome back and thanks from Japan 有難う 💛。The title is a synthesized word from two words : "Metal" and "Matsuri (= festival)" → Metali. The audience did get low at every venue in the world, because no one can resist following our Queen's direction. 😄 (Then they jump up from crouching posture like spring ejectors after Momoko's "Are you ready ?".) The repetitive わっしょい "Wasshoi" is a call or yell used in Japanese festival to stoke people's exhilaration and especially to encourage the power of guys who are carrying a heavy Mikoshi (神輿) on their shoulders that is a kind of a float in Western style festivals. Momometal's extravagant elocution and moves in Kabuki style and her growl gave an amazing accent in the exciting repetitiveness. When it comes to BABYMETAL, everybody prefers live rendition to studio MV. If this video included cool instrumental intros by Western (American) Kami Band, which are played at every venue, it would be prefect. This song was one in the setlist in the 2023 North American tour (29 gigs) with Dethklok and EU/UK tour (20 gigs) and 7 gigs in Japan. I appreciate the devoted support by Chris, CJ, Anthony and Clint (and Ryan in NA tour).

This was filmed at NEX_FEST, which was a festival in Japan hosted by Bring Me The Horizon. It was filmed during Babymetal's set during the festival. That's the Kami Band of the West on stage with them, and Tom Morello is on the video screen behind them. As of yet, Tom has not performed the song live with them.

From what I understand Tom Morello is a fan of the young ladies and their Kami's (this was I believe the West Kami Band performing) and was eager to collaborate with them. Yes that was Morello on the screen behind the stage.
