Hey Jenny! I noticed you are making pottery at home. I hope you’re aware that handling clay in a space not meant for it can be dangerous because of the quartz particles in clay dust. They gather in your lungs and can lead to all sorts of medical issues, even cancer. I don’t know how well they teach about safety in those open workshops so I thought I’d share just in case! My pottery teacher adviced to always keep a wet cloth to wipe surfaces during a pottery session and wearing a mask if there isn’t proper ventillation.

Now that you mention this, I remember my friend who was a ceramics major in college always wearing a n95 mask in the studio and not really letting us me hang in the studio with her as she worked because of my asthma

St. John’s wort is a great holistic alternative for depression medication. There are tons of studies on it. I use it too and I can say it helps a bit 😊

A way to combat this is to never sweep the floor always mop, spray water if you see particles in the air to weigh them down, and always clean up surfaces with water so no particles get kicked up into the air.
