Major construction is now complete on four new interchanges along Bangerter Highway. All lanes and ramps have now opened at the interchanges on Bangerter Highway at 5400 South, 7000 South, 9000 South, and 11400 South.

It all looks amazing! And awesome that they upgraded the roads to better handle traffic!

I think the 11400 South interchange looks the best out of the whole project. I wish all the interchanges could have been underpasses. In the end the Underpass has the least impact on the surrounding area. The overpasses tend to project road noise further and are more affected by weather. My favorite freeway in the state is I-215 South side, between State St and 2300 E, as it is all below the ground level. It took 20 years to build, but in the end it was well worth it.

East side of the Salt Lake County still needs TRAX connects from U of U to Cottonwood Height or East side of Sandy because of an hour and a half by buses just too long. (it only took me 30 min by car :) )

It might be the most viable but it's the ugliest segment of I-215

Nice work. Utah and Florida are such well run states.

Teardrop roundabouts would have be been better than all those additional traffic lights - seems like a big improvement nonetheless.

Can you please contract out some of your engineers to NDOT? None of our road projects ever work out half as well as the Utah road projects.

The best interchange would be a big roundabout over the highway, rather than lights. Painfully obvious.

Exactly! Like keystone avenue in Carmel, IN
@AlecDenston3 жыл бұрын
Austin McConnal explains why roundabout aren’t a solution to everything. A big reason is space, the existing private property is too close to the highway and roundabouts are too big and too expensive, it also messes with the deliberate timing of traffic lights to setup the flow of platoons.

Look up at what North Carolina planning on doing it’s called a turbine it will be the 1st ever in nc it’s basically a roundabout on a highway ncdot said use can go 60 mph on it

One intersection is better than two separate ones. Less red lights you need to sit through. My best guess

Turning regular streets to highways.

because it was no highway in the West side of the Salt Lake County but after this project, the west side finally connected to the rest of the county.

might be better than before, but it still needs lights which stops traffic periodically... so, someone didn't do their homework on making proper lightless freeflowing interchanges
@jaylenjackson240310 ай бұрын
Well, judging from how it looks, I definitely think there’s just not enough space to make a full directional interchange. Besides, it might not even be needed. There is a decent amount of traffic on the crossing streets, but the traffic lights have large areas to hold the traffic - essentially negating congestion.

and you ripped down tons of houses to accomplish next to nothing.
