Ik I'm late, but yeah, cause she was a grown A women playing a HS girl. When she came on in season 4 in 1993 she was 24 while Urkel, Waldo, Laura, Eddie, and Max, were all between 17 and 19....actual HS. Max, was the longest recurring character, on fm, they should have just made her a main, but for some reason didn't. Urkel, was suppose to be recurring also.

I believe that Myra calling Laura a strumpet was actually connected to the real life fact that Myra was diagnosed with a stomach cancer and had very little time to live which I believe not too long after this she passed away and jaleel white aka Steve urkel took it very hard even till recently with an interview with the remaining cast he still crys over her passing, so I believe that Myra and grandma Windslow are the two cast that have passed on may they rest in peace in the arms of Christ.

I do believe that deep down in Laura's heart, she felt the same way about Steve years before they actually got together. It just took Laura a while for those feelings to turn romantic.

You can’t be serious? Myra was a maniac. Obsession is not healthy and anyone in their right mind could see that this character was toxic. Myra was mean spirited and manipulative as hell. Steve couldn’t tolerate her which he deserved because he needed to see the way he was treating Laura. They were both invasive and creepy but myra was just ridiculous. I can’t stand what the writers did to her character

If Steve had married Myra instead of Laura, Myra would never let Steve have any female friends, would chase away any woman working with him on a project by stalking them, and they would constantly fight with each other every time their romance dies. I'm not saying the romance between Steve and Laura would never die (romance always does die), but Steve and Laura had years of solid friendship backing up their eventual romance, something Steve and Myra did not have (and Stefan and Laura did not have for that matter either).

I do believe that was the whole point of Myra. Had it not been for Myra, Laura and Steve might never have married because Steve would not have learned his lesson in respecting the privacy of others, namely the Winslows.

Exactly man. I don’t go for girls based off of looks. Don’t matter if you’re considered the finest thing on earth. If your heart ain’t right. I don’t want you. Myra wasn’t just beautiful, but her heart was so much full of light. She makes the screen shine. Laura only wanted Steve when he was Stefan. Considered “attractive”. But never wanted Steve when he was there for her in the most heartbreaking moments. Myra was better. And I hated he broke Myra’s heart like she’s just dust that needs to be dusted away. 😡😤🤬 when he broke her heart at Disneyland. I cried for her

@@ThatHonestPerson but you're forgetting that from the very beginning, Myra did not exactly try to build a solid friendship with Steve (apart from sharing in mutual interests), but instead selfishly tried to destroy the bond Steve shared with Laura. Laura may not have been ROMANTICALLY attracted to Steve until he matured a bit in the final season, but she was a good friend to Steve long before that.

Myra was cute, but unfortunately batsh!t crazy. Towards the end of the show, they made it more obvious how obsessive and crazy she was...putting hidden stalker cameras in his glasses, posters of Steve's face all over her wall, dressing up and trying to look like Laura thinking that would make Steve love her.....crazy, crazy, crazy. Not a recipe for anything long term. Laura was the better choice in the end.

@@bigben6508 and in the second to last season, Myra broke up with Steve for one episode because Steve did not agree to marry her right after college. She also destroyed the Winslows kitchen window with a barbecue grill. Steve probably only took Myra back because he was on the rebound from the next woman he dated only using him for a sorority geek party.

@@RandaWise I did read somewhere a while back that if season 10 would have aired, Stefan would have gotten killed off by becoming ill. And after Stefan made the transition, part of Stefan's image would have ended up in Steve having him become more immature. And Myra would have moved on and then ended up being in an abusive relationship at first, then she and OGD would have become a couple. I always thought that Stefan was too 'squeaky-clean-perfect'.

I agree. They could have still had Steve end up with Laura, since I do believe that had always been endgame, but they could have had Myra show maturity after breaking up with Steve, realizing they will never share the same bond Steve shares with Laura.

Cuz no guy would reject a girl like her in real life. So she wouldn't need to do crazy obsessive things cuz the dude would be in love with her instantly and they would live a happy life! haha.

I think the show would’ve been better for it. Steve getting over his childhood question becoming good friends with Laura would’ve been a nice dynamic and invited better storylines

Laura made it very clear multiple times she didn't like Steve he just wouldn't leave her alone. They mainly hung out when Laura wanted something and Steve would do anything for her very little questions asked. Besides Myra was designed to be Steve's girlfriend and despite both being smart and having similar interests Steve was still in love with Laura. Hell one time Steve told Myra to her face that if Laura ever gave he even a hint she liked him back he'd dump Myra in a heartbeat. Tell me you wouldn't be a little crazy if the person you loved more then anyone else was in love with someone who treated him like crap (Watch the episode were Steve was going to permanently become Stefan Urquelle that girl gave zero fucks he would be gone forever.).

After all, Steve did always come over to her house uninvited and break things, so you can't blame Laura and the other Winslows for popping off at Steve. Laura would do things for Steve too. Who threw a birthday party for Steve when he would have been alone on his birthday, even when others laughed in her face when she told them who the birthday party was for? Not Myra. Who defended Steve numerous times against Eddie, the person who often REALLY took unfair advantage of Steve's friendship? Not Myra. Who defended Steve when he was accused of blowing up the science lab and got the REAL culprit in trouble so he could not attempt to get Steve expelled again? Not Myra. Who faked her drowning to help Steve learn how to swim so he could graduate from high school? Not Myra. and the list goes on. I do agree with you on Stefan, that was the one time Laura showed true selfishness, especially in the Disney World episode, but she eventually took accountability for that incident, and at the end, she admitted she did miss Steve. I am glad Steve eventually put his foot down and refused to turn into Stefan so Laura would go with him to their senior prom.

@@rpmangin I respect your option also the fact you actually got some solid facts. I do feel the series should have ended after Steve cloned himself and that clone became Stefan. But you can deny Steve did some really shady shit even when he was told she wasn't interested.

@@mahdiallen2728 most of the shady stuff Steve did to try to swoon Laura was done before he met Myra. The one good thing Myra did for Steve was she showed him how Laura felt when he stalked her, only Myra took her stalking even further by drawing a picture of him naked without his knowledge and attempting to forcibly have set with him in his locker. Steve permanently grew out if stalking Laura as a result, which enabled he and Laura to become closer as friends.

It's true. Clearly the character played by Michelle Thomas (RIP🕊) was overbearing and a stalker but beyond that she was the one that actually shared interests with Steve. She loved him for who he was and showed up for him. He wanted the cool girl with status. That happens all the time. Men like to chase a trophy or someone society would prefer over someone who actually cares for them and has similar interests. I totally get your comment @yvette8550

@@Faaade_ She didn't really love Steve for Steve. She only loved him because he was an uber nerd, and she did not like it when he was trying to move away from some of his nerdy leanings because that meant he was outgrowing her.
