Personally, I stated that I won't fight even for my own country, Singapore, during my serviceable years. SAF is run by fools who are corrupted and incompetent. A soldier who surrenders is always a voluntary act. He/she can't surrender "involuntarily". They can be forced to surrender but that is still voluntary because they always have a choice.
