But, Canada is being called upon to rush to their defense. NORAD is installed in Canada to protect the USA, not Canada. Canada doesn't have any significant arms manufacturing to threaten anyone. Every dollar Canada spends on arms stimulates the American economy and weakens Canada's. I think it was American Colonel MacGregor I saw on YT a year or so ago and he said that Canada would be nuts to stay in NATO and should opt instead for a bilateral continental defense treaty with the USA only.

Rishi Sunak is a cunning man. I believe that he came to the conclusion that he could no longer keep his promise to Zelensky. Instead oh reneging on his promise he decided to call for a general election which he knew the Tories could not win and passed the problem to a new Labour government. Stamer was too fast in the start and pledged support for Ukraine. Fortunately before he made any specific promise, he realised that he does not have the means. Fortunately for the British people.

It may scale things down, but not stop. It seems weird that England is "leaning" so hard on a country that is in debt way over its head. In order to be fair to the citizens, a country has to realize its financial situation and function within those limitations. Both World Wars drained most European countries financially. The U.S. government is not getting any richer either. Defense contractors are doing well though. Individuals with stock in these companies do not seem to be complaining.

All it would take is a stern talking to by the US, and the UK government would retreat from this assertion. How so? Simple, the same tactics the US used on NATO nations. Basically they are told that "...if you don't fall in line behind the US, you are most vulnerable to Russia and China !" Give Starmer a month, I bet he would quickly change his tune. In fact, as early as after the NATO meeting.

I doubt if everyone watching this channel is particularly interested in the truth. For what it is worth, the truth is that Prime Minister Starmer is fully committed to Ukraine politically and to continuing the present level of aid to Ukraine. The fundamental error in this video is to suggest that aid to Ukraine is paid out of the normal defence budget. In fact, it is an extra expenditure. The commitment to increase defence expenditure to 2.5% by 2030 remains, the statement by Minister Pollard merely explains why there will be a delay in reaching the government's target.

I think what he was saying is that there wouldn't be an increase (over the £ 3 bn. and the arms donations). It's a start.

Good decision by UK not to shell out money for the Ukraine war. Let UK focus on reviving it's economy and trade instead of copying USA.

Uk doesn’t make any decisions without asking the US . Relying on a President who quite frankly couldn’t find his own backside even using both hands is not the greatest policy . Russia would not need to use weapons on the UK he will leave it to destroy itself .

Your headline is pure Russian prop - I am a British labour party supporter and Sir Keir Starmer has said nothing of the sort you describe above (with, I note a question mark after it), in fact the exact opposite. I can't believe you are still soaking up Russian untruths.
