What amazes me is how so many characters can have so much personality shown in a matter of seconds. While modern games can’t even show one in a 8 hour story

Midnight club 2, every quote the rivals say, explain their backstory so much with so little, just voice and also fitting music. Same goes for old, good games, minimal games. EDF 4 also masters this, it just uses voices and the context of the missions to explain so much. This era is gone because the people who design such games are gone or silenced

What a game. Stone Golem was so overpowered if you had character traits enabled. And I think zombie characters were immune to instant kills from headshots, it just knocks their head off. The number of times you played as a monkey was tracked as a game stat.

My favorite FPS franchise of all time! It basically perfected the formula that made Goldeneye on the N64 so addictive! No boring open worlds and no tedious farming for xp or items - just nonstop action dripping with tons of personality and charm. Besides, what other FPS let you set up a deathmatch between a snow man, a ninja monkey, a T-Rex, a Bear, and the freaking Ginger Bread Man!? Edit: and Arial Davinci is basically flesh pits Mileena nearly a decade before flesh pits Mileena, lol!

This was my favorite game back in the day put hundreds of hours into making maps and unlocking new characters. Wish game companies would put this much love into their games again. The characters even had their own sound effects from being shot if I remember right.

@goneja757 Honestly, they really are overhyped. They're not bad games, but they're not amazing or ground breaking. Elden ring felt like I was playing a drawn-out and worse version of darksouls 3/Bloodborne combined. The new zelda game looks like a rip off, lol. Shit literally looks like a 20 dollar expansion pack of breath of the wild. Armored core 6 is really not that great either. It's basically a double A studio made game. Not a lot of budget went into it.

Anyone else remember doing virus mode on the blimp, then hiding underneath the platform. The one with the death fans spinning either side LOL. This game was peak. Truly brilliant.

N you could hop on it n it would take you to a lil building only accessible by that boat and you could snipe from the window! Man I wanna replay this game SO BAD ;(

Man, this game was AMAZING. It feels like the golden age of gaming has long since passed. I feel like PS2 era gaming was the best. Then again, I'm biased because that was my childhood. 🤣 The N64 was another one of my favorite consoles. And so was the Sega Genesis, if only because it was my first one and a gift.

Never played it (never owned consoles) but what a sick music! Reminds me flash games from my childhood that I played a lot (Electric Man 2 HS for example or Smile Wars). Or even Raze/Unreal Flash. Huge vibe of second half of 2000s, absolutely love it.

i remember doing this thing where i would select and deselect the soldier that says "that's a great choice" so he would be saying "that's a grrr, that's a grr, that's a grr" and they guy i was playing will would literally roll around laughing......such a good game also try playing survival mode against the Goliath robot on the arctic map with mini guns and hid in the bunker, IT'S NUTS

I miss this type of game. We don't need time splitters I.P. just a game dev team that carries on the spirit of what this was about. Yes I know there is a group trying to make time splitters reloaded or what ever they are calling it, but copying a game made many years ago means you stopping any innovation or changes that could improve upon the idea that time splitters are going for.
