My dad bought me a Bulova watch for HS graduation. I was so proud of that watch until going to get the crystal replaced. The watch shop repair technician stopped me to point out a problem. “It’s not a Bulova” he said. “Look closely”. I smiled as I read “Bolivia”!! Apparently, my cheap dad met a sidewalk salesman outside of the watch shop who offered “a real bargain”. Sadly, I lost that most dear watch. Dad and I laughed with pride at each telling of that story? Oh, how I wish I had it today!

I just received a Bulova Sutton that started my collection which also brought me here. As a disabled veteran and being a person that enjoys being at the front of innovation, Bulova will always be in my collection after this video.

Watched this with my 1973 Bulova Accuquartz strapped to my wrist. While the Accutron is often incorrectly credited as such, the Accuquartz was both the first American-made quartz watch and the first mass-market quartz watch. I paired it with a period-correct stainless steel rallye-style bracelet made by Froidevaux SA, and its a winning combination. While it is regrettable that the Citizen group acquired Bulova, it likely saved them from complete dissolution. Anyway, excellent video here!

I'm sixtyseven,and when I was a kid,Bulova was considered one of,if not THE best around,I wanted one,but my parents got me a more economical Benrus,which was a very good watch,(the watch was destroyed by a classmate swinging a tool at me in shop,nearly cutting it in half,my mom suggested I send it back to benrus,and see if they could fix it,and they sent me another for free,(I've since wondered if she secretly bought me another one)

Nice vid, however I think you missed a very key moment when in 1960, Bulova introduced the Accutron, but as part of it's marketing of this watch, it sent out some Accutrons without the dial/face to jewellers to put in their shop displays, so people could see the inside and how it was different to other brands. The public wanted the Accutron without the face because it was so different and was a kind of skeleton watch that it became a big hit, so Bulova started selling it without the face/dial and called it the Spaceview.

Either way... what an impressive company. I was on the fence about buying a Bulova, but now it seems like I must buy one as a part of American history.

Bulova Seiko watches and Rolex are the only watches on my wrist

Had the unexpected fortune of finding a 1966 Bulova Buckingham pocket watch in a pawn shop! Of all places as I don’t frequent those places as I find them depressing. Haggled with the proprietor for a month. We reached an agreement and the watch came with the original case. And it runs! Gains a minute per day but that doesn’t impact my enjoyment of it.

I found a what looks like a 1927 Square style watch while metal detecting. I think it’s 14 karat white gold. The case back swings open on a hinge on the inside it says Bulova quality. Patton January 11, 1927. So I started from 1927 and look forward on Google. I think I’m going to run it by a jewelry shop and have them look at it.

I have 3 Bulova watches, 1 Precisionist with diamonds, 1 Archive special edition lunar pilot, and 1 crystal. To hell with Rolex overpriced watches, Bulova watches have lasted me at least 9 years with 0 problems.

Bulova currently sell a automatic version of the watch that was supplied to the US military in the Second World War called the bulova hack.I’m wearing it now and cannot believe how accurate a version it is to the original watch.check it out.I’m not a watch seller or have any connection to bulova watching this video as made me even prouder I own this watch.

I own a new Spaceview which is still unworn to this day. Complete with all paperwork, receipts, manuals, boxes and even the branded paper bag from the supplier. I will look to upload a video showcasing it 👍🏻

Excellent video. Unfortunately, Bulova, as we knew it, is no more. In March of 2018 the Bulova assembly and warehouse in New York was closed and all distribution moved to the Citizen facility in California. At this point more than 90% of Bulova employees were let go. Many of the sales and some of the design people remain but Bulova is just another brand of the Citizen corporation. Sad.

The fact that they completely ignore their amazing heritage and makes 48mm monsters completely baffles me. They should make more watches like their moonwatch. That thing is one of the sexiest things I’ve seen. It gives me faith that bulova possibly could return to their old status. We need cool watches like bulovas in that price range.

I am checking out Bulova info because I'm listening to an audiobook in which a character in 1945 cherishes her Bulova watch and alarm clock. However, the narrator repeatedly pronounces it BullOHva. It apparantly is pronounced that way in Europe.

So Jos. Bulova was also Chas. Lindbergh?

It’s unfortunate that most of the new Bulova watches are so ugly. The new blue lunar pilot looks great. Some of their dress watches look nice, but 90% of what I see from Bulova looks awful. It’s a shame. I wish they had a good looking Precisionist. I’d love a smooth sweeping seconds hand. Like a Grand Seiko.
