I was able to get the Batman version from Uncrate after a few restocks. Loving it! Pro tip - signing up for Timex emails with give you the 15% off, but it does expire after a week or two. You're better off waiting until they are back in stock and then signing up.

I have this watch, it's a cracking little thing and much improved over the original. I actually prefer the old Q bracelet as I'm not very hairy. An alternative bracelet is to swap it out for a Milanese mesh from a Casio A700... Or buy a Skmei for £10 and take the bracelet from that as a cheaper alternative. You can also swap the clasp out relatively easily if you have an 18mm clasp lying around.

I like Timex and I'm pleased to see that they are upping their game. I was tempted on this one but for not a lot more cash got a Glycine GMT in the same colorway. That suits me fine.

I really like the faded Pepsi bezel. Nice job, Timex. I love my Pepsi Q 3 hander, it is a perfect size for my 6.75" wrist and the woven steel bracelet is incredibly comfortable.

Hi, I’m the same size wrist but when I try watch lower than 40mm it looks too small on the hand. Doesn’t this one look too small on the wrist?

Nope, it looks perfect. Just takes a few days on the wrist to get used to a smaller watch. I used to wear 42 mm watches and now my favorite size is 36mm-39mm. Cheers!@@sng-

This obviously does not apply if you very specifically want a GST. But I would skip the Q and go straight to the PRX for this style, especially with the 38 mm coming out.

I was full aware of the typical Timex draw backs, but the Rhonda Mvt sealed it for me. Thanks for the reassurance that this was not a horrible purchase. I did buy the PVD Gunmetal and plan to put an NATO strap (gasp) RAF (50/50 crimson/red and navy blue with a thin white stripe separating the two) from the Regimental Shop in the UK. (Two JOMW uh-oh’s. 🤣) This will serve as just a fun little trip watch. It indeed does help to sign up for the notices. I signed up about two weeks ago, saw the notice in my junk box this morning and bought the next-to-last one available and at 20%. Shipping was free for me, so after tax about $179 USD. It doesn’t matter the color scheme, they are ALL GOING FAST, so I reiterate, sign up for the notices. Just like the Q three hand and M79, I don’t see these ending production in the near future.

Nice update for the Q. I have the 3 hand auto reissue and I love it. First thing I did was buy a cheap casio and do a strap swap to save my arm hair. Mine doesn't get that much wrist time since I wear my watches while lifting weights and I prefer whatever watch I put on in the morning to be able to whatever I do during the day. The Timex reissues tend to lack the specs for an active lifestyle. Even though it is one my cheapest watches it mostly gets worn on date nights (except movies because the lume stinks).

While I was wearing my 1966 1675 I happend to be in costco and saw one. Put it right beside my Rolex and sure it's a timex but..its not that bad ! Cheap and effective!

Excellent review Jody. It's a nostalgic piece but I still think they should have upped their game in terms of the crystal, domed mineral or even sapphire and add on the cost, plus at least some usable lume. Despite the improvements over the last one, I think they missed an opportunity here to have a huge hit with this one. With my outdoor activities and general clumsiness it wouldn't be long before I put big polywatch resistant scratches on it. The Phoibos is probably a much better buy. I remember many years ago my late dad always saying Timex is shxxte, so maybe that's still colouring my opinion! But it will definitely be popular with many people. If it had glass I might even have bought it.

Later in June Seiko is supposed to release an automatic GMT based on the "dive style" Seiko 5 sports ...aka the SKX....for around $400 U.S.

It’s hard to beat indiglo! One of my favorite features of the Timex line. Blue and black Batman is the one for me! It’s on my list and will use your link to buy it. I really appreciate your reviews and focus on thrift - if that can be said of someone with 40 watches in his collection! I feel like the Rotary's have some really nice Budget GMTs. It manages to not look like a homage too, in pepsi or batman flavours. And Timex itself has the Waterbury GMT. I find my GMT really useful, so I'm always looking for a 4 hander, but the reason I've kept away from Timex is the customer support, I've heard it's dreadful.

I like it. I like that they don't have the peace symbol in the hour hand. I like that the bezel looks a little faded. I'm glad they make a batman version. I also liked the GMT Timex made a couple years ago. I think it was called the Allied 3 GMT. It had Indiglo.

A vast improvement over the original Q Re-issue. They seem to be milking the original with about 50 different colorways now. The Malibu Collection in pinks and pastel colors. It's a bit ridiculous. I sent my first Q back. After paying almost 300 dollars Canadian for it , it just felt a bit too rickety for the price. Particularly after just receiving my Helm Vanuatu at a similar cost. I just couldn't justify it. The GMT looks promising though. We'll see how much Canada gets dinged for one 😁

The Ronda 515 24h is a joke of a movement. Just try to synchronize the GMT hand with the hour hand--I dare you! The GMT hand doesn't move in hour increments, and due to friction issues and cheap constriction it starts moving only 20 minutes after you set it. Furthermore, when you adjust the GMT hand, it messes with the minute hand and moves it half a minute forward. Real unusable junk.

I woundn't say "unusable junk," but it is a bit tricky to adjust the GMT hand, as you say. The problem is common to quartz watches that you need to move the hands counter-clockwise to take up the slack from the "backlash" in the gears. The GMT hand, however, can't be turned counter-clockwise, so it must be set 15-20 minutes ahead of the minute hand to take out the slack. Annoying, but I've gotten used to it.

@@WG55 Delbert and Kit, thanks. Yes, I'm aware of that. It CAN be managed, but for me the main problem is the fact that every time you set the GMT hand, the minute hand moves slightly. I like my minute and seconds hands to be synchronized, i.e., that the minute hand points the index precisely when the seconds hand reaches 12:00. Thus, due to the movement's friction problem, I have to re-synchronize the minute and second hands each time I set the GMT hand. That's exhausting.

Looks quite nice but too small for me. I also see comments about the movement, which I can't comment on with any kind of authority. But, I have the Pagani Design Pepsi GMT with the Pearl movement, and have to say, its been perfect since I've had it - about 12 months. Better size, I changed the bracelet to a jubilee, and I love it. And it was a lot less than this Quartz. Great review as always though. 👍

They have a gorgeous GMT, "Waterbury," but it's also quartz. It's also not currently available in U S. market, anyway.

I never knew this was coming and I wanted a quartz GMT for travel. I bought the Timex Allied Three GMT on eBay for 200. This is a nicer looking watch, also, the one I bought is a chunky 43mm boy. If only I could tell the future! Still though, I do enjoy the watch I bought!

I think I'd like a coke bezel variant. I like the idea of a quartz GMT. I assume it might be easier to keep set at the correct time(s) if you cycle multiple watches in your collection and don't want to wear this thing every other day.

Everything I have heard is that a quartz GMT regardless of aesthetics makes for the most accurate travel watches bar none (why do you think military pilots use G-shocks - rough and tumble, sure, but you can have multiple time zones in the digi part, altitude on some models, and that good ol’ Casio Japan Mvt). If you are considering buying this watch or any of its variants, definitely sign up for notices. I got the email this morning and bought the next-to-last PVD Gunmetal watch before 9:30AM Central Daylight Time.

The lume must have been improved. I purchased this watch in March 2023. Lume seems to be usable up to 30 minutes after being charged by normal light.

You have not mentioned and demonstrate one of the most important thing about gmt function. Is it "true gmt" movement, or gmt hand can be set up indrpendently ?

SWATCH competition. Timex been around forever. Good looking watch, Quartz reliability. Nice band upgrade. My GAWD TIMEX, use a decent LUME. There are some other choices but TIMEX for an everyday wear.

I considered buying the previous Pepsi Q, but all three watches in the shop had the second hand not hitting the markers. Same with the GMT one featured in the review. Don’t really understand why Times can’t fix it? Most of the Casios, even much cheaper ones don’t have this issue.

You're being kind towards the original Q in not mentioning the movement. The reason I returned mine immediately was the garbage Epson stuffed into it. I found it impossible to not have the minute hand jump unpredictably a few minutes before/after the time I sent it to. That was inexcusable, even the cheap $30 Timexes I have don't do that.

I can’t agree that it’s a “great brand name.” It’s a tired old brand that’s tried to put a number of overpriced cheapo retro watches over on us in recent years. (Again, some years ago I took a Timex expedition on an actual expedition … and it broke.)

Can anyone confirm whether this version still has a loud ticking sound. As much as I love my Q Timex, it's annoying trying to sleep if I have it on the bedside table as you can hear it ticking.

I don't know if you in Down Under have access to the german brand Dugena. But if you can I would recommend to make a revuew of the Dugena Tresor 4460912. A Rolex Explorer substitue for 250 or 210 Euros. The quality of the case and especially the bracelet is stunning for thus price range.

Some alternatives with better specs and cheaper - The Siezenn Automatic G-Series Master 200m WR and only £103. But if it's the heritage vibe you're looking for try the Wolbrook WT Mecaquartz Diver 100m WR a great watch at just under £200. 😁

I just caught a Waterbury GMT model TW2U99100 on sale at Jomashop for USD 59. It has a near white or sort of champaign metallic face, but does not blind you, and the hands are very easy to read. This is clearly not another Rolex copy, despite a "Pepsi" bezel. How does it appear? It's funny, how we perceive looks, and this one looks like a cheap Timex, and that's OK, because I bought it cheap. Otherwise, this watch has something I cannot put my finger on, a character, an identity, charm. It is a keeper! One niggle I have is the bezel, that only aligns well in the 24 on top position, otherwise the GMT hand gets to be a bit off, so it tells you it's either 15 mins before or after the pointed at hour. With the Invicta, Pagani, and Tandorio offers out there, I am sure they do better, as I have not seen this with my diver's bezels! So, a GMT with a off-mark 24hr bezel ... still, I know what it means, it's like a good friend with a thpeach impeddimint! It is still a keeper, simply because it has a bit character!
