*I’m a 45 year old war veteran and I’ve lost every relationship and failed at everything in my life. Four days ago I was laying in bed, crying and I prayed to God. I told him that I have nothing to give him that’s worthy of a King but my broken heart. I heard him speak to me and say, “allow yourself to fall apart, it’s ok, I’ve got you.” I began to sob uncontrollably. I heard him speak again and he said, “I’ve got amazing and extraordinary things in store for you, just trust me.” So all I have is a broken life surrendered to Him. I have to give up and let him do the work because I am nothing on my own*

I heard this song when I was in Prison and it made me so happy and made my day.. I am now out of Prison and I praise the Lord for his greatness in my life..

I am two and a half years clean from drugs and 3 months sober from alcohol... thank you Jesus for delivering me! Thank you for bringing me out of the trenches!!!

This morning devotion has reminded me that I've disappointed my late father. Dude NEVER missed morning devotion and he knew all this songs by heart ❤️ He always had tears in his eyes whenever he sang them. Especially "UNDER THE CANOPY". Mum (God rest her soul) will be harmonizing the tunes because she has a background in music. (I lost mum and dad in 2020). The one song that grabbed my heart was "UNDER THE CANOPY". That was my dad's fave song. When I say fave, I mean FAVE!!! Keep resting, Pops and Mama Gee. I'll go back to our usual morning devotion culture again. I miss you 😭😭😭😭😭😭

I didn’t know that these were the exact song line up for morning devotions in other Nigerian families.😂 I could picture my dad raising these songs and compelling us to clap and sing along. I remember that I didn’t like clapping loud in the morning because I felt it disturbed other people living in the adjacent flats. I feel nostalgic every time I listen to this song… I remember all my siblings how we would sit around in the morning with our bibles and Daily Fountain Devotional ❤. Those family devotion moments were seminal to our devoutness to our Anglican heritage till date. I give kudos to every Nigerian mom and dad in the early 2000s.
