During a work trip to Toronto, Canada, I got to explore the downtown area. Hoping to explore the St Lawrence Public Market on a Sunday, I was surprised that the market is closed on Sundays!
Wondering the streets of Toronto, looking for places to eat, I was happy to see that right down the street was a legendary place for a great Sunday Brunch and it get even better because it's a buffet!
It's nice to see the HOTHOUSE brining back their legendary Sunday Brunch Buffet after a long while and even more happy to get to experience it. Canadian staples of hot French toast who maple syrup, roast beef and ham, and an assortment of wonderfully prepared Italian style hot dishes from the pastas to the seafood.

I love these low cost high quality discoveries you find. And the portions were really generous. I feel so sorry for these businesses that had to shut down for so long. Does anyone here in Toronto remember the Richtree Marche at Bayview and York Mills and the crepes and Rosti they had there? I love how it was like a station setup, it was so fun and interactive.

Once or twice a year I've come here with family for a special occasion -- A birthday, or Mother's Day. You can never go wrong, but if you want to eat there on Mother's Day you must make a reservation! This is one of Toronto's best kept Church St. Village secrets. The food is rich, and well made -- restaurant quality, they don't go cheap on the buffet.

Hey Tim, great to see you back in Toronto! We've passed by The Hothouse many times, but have never stopped in. After seeing the Sunday Brunch Buffet, we'll have to give it a try. I'd never heard of this restaurant until this video came up in my suggestions but I think we will have to give it a try after seeing such a great selection. We miss a good buffet and so many have closed. Thx for the video Tim, love the shirt! Shalom from the 905. ✌️

Great video Tim. Everything looked so good. You were in my old stomping grounds, I used to live one block east of the St, Lawrence market and have eaten in that restaurant, but didn't know they had a buffet on Sunday. Thanks for taking us along.

What a lovely brunch buffet! Although I am a bit annoyed I have to dig out the cake pan and make my own banana chocolate cake🤣 as I'm too far from Toronto for a quick trip! It was my Grandmother's specialty and I loved it! Have never seen for sale in any venue tho! Thanks for taking a try of it 🙂! I don't like French toast - but that topping! I would have to give that a try. Once again, thank you for sharing in your delightful way!

Isn't 6 weekdays enough time to go shopping?? Sunday should be a day for families to have together, to go to Church, to rest, to be with best friends. It is after all the Day of The Lord. But most people seem to have forgotten, or never even heard.

Lovely Brunch buffet! Thanks for sharing my birthday cake. Twenty-five years ago, my Mom and I visited Toronto relatives, who took us to a big Chinese Buffet place for dim sum and etc. I don't know if it is still around.

I've been to Hot House many times and when it was $35 it was a great deal for a Buffet, but now it's $45 and for just $5 more you can go to the Old Mill for their Sunday Buffet which to me is way better.

Had to look for another breakfast buffet video after this morning's new video...what a lovely city and that buffet place looks really nice I love the way they have the food presented, everything looks so good. I really like Shakshuka but i have never seen it in a buffet. The end piece is the best piece or the edges rather especially the corners. That desert station was small but that's all they needed had some really good looking picks coconut ice cream made me want that with grilled pineapples and peaches good stuff. Nice looking place.

This also reminds me of the Novotel hotel breakfast buffet in North York. They stopped having the Mother's Day open to public buffet and the ladies at the desk were snobs to me saying I couldn't have a table unless I stay at the hotel. But this is like so AMAZING and is the exact thing I've been looking for a breakfast buffet. I also know of Mother Tucker's by the airport and miss Frankie Tomatoe's since they closed down. This is so nice to see! Another two buffets are; Copcabana and Rodeo

So sorry to hear... Most hotels allow anyone to dine at the restaurants... This is a nice find and very comforting too.. was a bit concerned when I saw how small it was in front, but glad to find the other section of the buffet 😃

Just a suggestion, it would be interesting if you could do a video on the newly re-opened Fallsview casino buffet, however not sure if you can record with it being in a casino. $35 seems like a great deal for such a great looking buffet especially in Toronto during these inflationary times. I don't know how the owners can afford to do this! It would be interesting to know what the prices were pre-covid? This would be a good way to gauge how much the major grocery chains (Loblaws, Metro) have used covid as an excuse to rip-off all of us! I'm glad to see that the Hot-House survived the controlled demolition of small businesses in Toronto during the Covid insanity. It is a Toronto institution that has been around for over 20 years as far as I am aware. In the late '90's and early 2000's I used to go to the flea market almost every Sunday at the St. Lawrence market with my best friend. We were both vegetarians back then so I never went there for brunch thinking I wouldn't get my money's worth, but I remember always looking through the windows drooling at the amazing spread of food inside. I'm no longer a vegetarian but other factors prevent me from going today.
