You are welcome and I agree. Manny High (to me) looked more like a realistic school (except for the fact that 99% of all classes happened in one classroom lol). Plus, the school was more diverse than Saved by the Bell and other similar shows.

Agreed as well. Diversity was very evident in this series and was a plus. It was funny to see all the classes took place in the same classroom with the same teacher over different material. At least SBTB used different teachers and material but in the same classroom which is expected in a high school. I had many teachers who didn't have a classroom and used another teacher's room when they had their break to teach. City Guys was able to do what Welcome Freshmen attempted to do in their last season which was provide continual character development.

Actress *Gina McClean* (Tina) unfortunately came across as an odd fit with the other series regulars. She just didn't seem to have natural onscreen chemistry with her fellow cast members. The showrunner(s) appeared to have decided to recast the role while this series pilot was still being shot. Tina appears in only one scene with the entire main cast. Each of her remaining scenes are with a single member of the main cast at a time. Notice that Tina is never present in Mrs. Nobel's homeroom class where we see Jamal, Chris, Al, and Dawn, nor is she present at the fight on the roof at the end of the episode. They must have already decided that the actress simply didn't fit with the others. In episode 2, the character was recast with actress *Marissa Dyan* (Cassidy) playing essentially the same aspiring model/actress student role as Tina. During the first season, Cassidy even wears some of the exact same wardrobe that Tina wore in the pilot. The two main character differences were that Cassidy was indeed a member of Mrs. Nobel's homeroom class, and that Cassidy and Dawn are immediately shown to be relatively close friends. The other notable change came as the first season progressed. The El-Train character became such a scene stealing hit, that the role was upgraded from recurring character status during the first season, to series regular status from season 2 throughout the remainder of the series. Beginning in season 2, actor *Steven Daniel* (Lionel 'El-Train' Johnson) is credited during the opening theme song.

TV shows modify characters all the time for various reasons. For a 'Saturday Morning' show, I would expect it to be something of bully and target become friends (or lovers), it's a cliche that many teen shows often employed in the 80s and 90s.

FYI Joel I grew up in the 80's & early 90's I was attending high school from 1989 to 1993 & Ik what teachers & principals can & cant do.
