Now that Dracula (Adam Sandler) has opened the Hotel Transylvania's doors to humans, things are changing for the better; however, Drac is secretly worried that his half-human grandson, Dennis, isn't showing his vampire side. So, while Mavis and Johnny are away, Drac enlists his friends to help him put the boy through a "monster-in-training" boot camp. But things really get batty when Drac's cantankerous, old-school dad (Mel Brooks) pays an unexpected visit.

Dennis is a dempire, the hybrid between a human and a vampire. Because of his higher base durability from his father and his half human nature, he will not have the same weaknesses as a full vampire. While he might have less strength than a full vampire, Johnny has shown a very high level of durability that he would inherit.

Fun fact Vlad was actually a real guy, he was just only acused as a vampire because he had a habit of impaling his enemies on a wooden stake wall like decoration & drink their blood

I feel like it would’ve been better if he still didn’t end up becoming a vampire Shows that no matter how much you want some things to happen, they won’t. You just have to learn to accept that

This was the first Hotel Transylvania film I experienced in a movie theater and I enjoyed it. It may not have done better than the first film but in my opinion, it’s still a fun movie.🙂

This was great.... I enjoyed this sequel very much . Your reactions and comments for Hotel Transylvania 2 added more to like about this movie . I was rooting for Mavis& Johnny's son to be a vampire but I would have liked this movie just as much either way . I like Hotel Transylvania 3 a lot and am looking forward to more reactions here for Halloween season . Thank you Tim

Remember what Vlad said, the TRUE key to help a vampire get his fangs is to take something they care about and try to hurt it. Sure, Dennis liked Cakie but HE'S just a TV character, whereas Winnie is his BMFF (Best Monster Friend Forever) and possible future zing

Just for the fun, I calculated the height of the tower with the free fall a little later... Neglecting Air Resistance and assuming it's on Earth, the tower would be about 7000m tall, about 23000 ft Looked smaller, that's what happens when you don't get a scale with those shots (and I know it's for a gag). So this precarious wooden tower is over seven ninth of Mt. Everest, no wonder they stopped using it for insurance. A little over third-way, you may start having altitude sickness... And don't think about making it fall, this thing will cause damage... Oops, it did, but less than it should. Here's the math: Time's about 38 seconds Acceleration is -9.8 meters per second per second Initial Speed is 0 meters per second Distance = Initial Speed * Time + 0.5 * Acceleration * Time^2 First part equals zero, so Distance = 0.5 * Acceleration * Time^2 0.5*-9.8*38^2 = about -7075 meters The bottom of the tower is 0m so the top is 7075m

Dennis is technically a dhampir, half human half vampire. So it wouldn’t have mattered if he had fangs or not. I think he would’ve still had some vampire abilities just not all of them. Kind of similar to Renesmee from Twilight; she’s had some vampire attributes as well as humans being a dhampir. She had fangs, but couldn’t produce venom. Therefore she wouldn’t been able to change a human into a vampire. 🧛🏻‍♂️🧛🏻‍♀️👨🏻‍🦰🧑🏻‍🦰🦇❤️🖤✌🏻

I thought this movie was just OK when I first saw it, but I wouldn't mind re-watching it again cause it does have some really funny parts in it. I honestly didn't care if Dennis stayed a human or became a vampire because I think as much as it was about Dennis growing up VERY fast, it seemed more about Drac learning to not force anything on his grandson, just like Grandpa Vlad had to learn that his ways of 'parenting' no longer works now, so he had to adapt VERY fast.

The mom Mavis was the real bad guy in this movie. She coddled Dennis and pretty much forced being human on him. He deserved to go through the rites of passage and experience all that being a vampire had to offer while he still could. It's not like Drac was letting anything bad happen to him.

My personal opinion, I think it would be fine if Dennis was human. This would show that no matter what, whether he is a monster or not, Drac should still accept him as his grandson. Dennis would be fine as the young boy that he is and loved by his family and friends. This would allow everyone to see that he is no different than they are.

Unfortunately the only one of the HT movies I really liked. Every other felt just stupid in terms of stupid jokes for small kids. This one has a beautiful heartwarming story about the grandpa-grandson relationship and also moves about acceptance while being different. Dennis is the cutest kid ever :3
