Wowza....I haven't seen this since 1979. My 11 year old self was just reawakened! What a banger of a pop song and perfectly constructed; verse, pre-chorus, chorus, a modulation and a big ending. Well done Mr Doy and Tina Cross.

Her name just popped up in my mind so thought hey let me check if she’s on KZfaq. I still have pictures of mom getting getting an autograph from Tina at the Auckland airport back in the early 80s 👍🏽

I'll never forget when Tina won in her beautiful white dress in the 1979 Pacific Song Contest. She received 50 pts. Australia came 2nd with 48 pts, before Canada and Japan. I loved the show and the compere, John Hayden, did a marvelous job. Tina's performance was outstanding, moving in a sensuous way, smiling modestly. Thanks for this wonderful video. I haven't seen it before. But why is not the Pacific Song Contest on KZfaq as well?

I'd love to know if you have access to any video of the PSC? I remember watching the competition as a child but have failed in all these years to find any recording of the '79 contest.

Hard to believe she completely revamped her image in a few years. What a complete makeover when she sang 'Too young for promises'. Her voice sounds totally different as well

Wellington Paranormal - Season 1 Episode 3 (70's Party Ghost) - Epic Episode - this song is hilarious in it. (Fun fact I actually Met Tina Cross breifly for a work thing about a month ago - She's still smokin hot in 2019.)

In the 80's there was a TVNZ documentary series called 'when the Haka became booige' and one of the episodes featured a clip of her singeing this at the South Pacific Song Contrest - as the winner - with the scoreboard behind her ..

She's a star...her Right Stuff work in Sydney in the late 80's is monumental...what a talent.....makes Jenny Morris and co look somewhat limp by comparison

Jenny Morris was fine - brilliantly talented as well, Just different style and different genre of music. And I don't just say that because I used to live next door to Jenny growing up in Mangakino / Maraetai.
