Tell that to the guy who’s been forced to live in fear for his life because idiots like this woman, who knee-jerk post stuff without thinking, spread the false rumour that he was Jon Venables. Nobody deserves to be lynched for something they did when they were ten, let alone for something that somebody else they superficially look a bit like did when they were ten.

Or did it sound like she just believed something she read on the internet and spread it without thinking, ie precisely the sort of thing that has destroyed David Calvert’s life. And he’s just the one we know about because he spoke out about it. Who knows how many supposed “Jon Venables” will have their lives ruined by exactly this kind of meatheaded amateur vigilantism. If they happen by chance to also get the real Jon Venables lynched it won’t make it any better.

How was she? They served 8 years. She got a suspended sentence of 8 months and a £10K fine. I feel for her but unfortunately ignorance isn't an excuse and she did something wrong and needed to be punished for it. I do applaud her for standing up and saying that she was wrong, she made a mistake etc though. My Mam used to be very much like Tina, she would have no idea when it came to technology and have to ask for help on the simplest of things. I think we digital natives (ones who have grown up using computers and phones etc and had to adapt to the tech changing as and when it did) sometimes forget that to those a generation older, the digital immigrants, this can still be a complete unknown. You click to share a funny picture or a quirky fact you find interesting and it doesn't occur to you that not only is that little click permanently recorded and indelible, but it also has a reach that can span the entire globe. Digital immigrants don't understand it enough to consider it and digital natives don't consider it because those clicks and the global nature of the Internet is second nature. It would be like thinking about how to breathe. It's a shame that she had to be punished for her actions, she seems totally sincere in her ignorance of technology etc so I genuinely don't think it was done maliciously (this may be the kind of characters she plays but I don't think she's the type of person to hold back if she shared it because she thought it *should* be shared, if that makes any sense?) but that's the price of breaking the law, you have to face the consequences if you're caught.

A suspensed sentence is a warning. You will serve the sentence "in the community" and you will have to comply with 13 requirements/ restrictions. You can get one with no requirements. These requirements could be to do community service or to stay away from certain areas. If you break any of the conditions during your sentence the you serve the rest in prison.

Absolutely I mean yes you need to b careful with what you put online etc and make sure you don’t share graphic or hateful content on social media and tiebreak platforms like that but it doesn’t mean you should b punished for it those who constantly bully people and send vile comments and messages yes but not when you just unwittingly ( as Tina did) and not intentionally share something. I guess it’s a lesson you have to really double check before you post or repost anything that for goes without saying but we all make mistakes and have messed up and none of us are perfect we can omly do our best have a wonderful evening Xx

I agree. People must be careful and know how the murderers look like now as adults. Those two are lurking around obviously hoping to find new victims! So I really hope that every parent NEVER leave their kid’s unsupervised whenever they go outside.

@@jasonhylnd001She genuinely made a mistake it wasn’t her intention ( at the time) to cause any harm to anyone trust me I share ( fun things obviously) masses of and post stuff on social media on a fairly regular basis but my point is anyone could’ve done it if anything it’s the fault of FB and whoever originally posted the content mainly FB they should let their users know what you can and can’t upload on there. I’m sure Tina’s learned from this and I hope she’s happier now Xx

She un intentionally and unintentionally shared some post about one of the boys who killed the lovely James Boldgur and she got an eight month suspended sentence and a £10;000 fine sue didn’t mean to she wasn’t very familiar with social media and didn’t have the latest ( at the time) computer and phone I felt really sorry for her Xx
